Bit of a no brainer from PEH side to turn down Fulham if he knew that a bid from AM was in the offing. Who wouldn't want to go & play for Simeone if you had the chance over a number of other clubs.
Hojbjerg is just Simone's sort of player. Good fit.

Really hope we can shift PEH, feel Gallagher just suits our new style of play so much more and would be a big upgrade to the squad. Ange also very keen to get him in. So he either needs to accept Fulham or we have to hope AM stump up the cash. Don't think it does anyone any favours if he stays.
I'm expecting a loan with obligation to AM which we will accept.

Have to make sacrifices somewhere if we want this rebuild to happen. Can’t hold out for perfect deal here. Anything in 25M + range should be a goer. Get it moving and get CG in.

Atletico Madrid have made a fresh bid to sign Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, this time on loan.

The Spanish club had an offer accepted by Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the summer to sign the midfielder on a permanent basis but failed to agree personal terms.

At present the Atletico offer, which does not include an obligation to buy, is not being taken seriously.

As things stand it looks like Hojbjerg will stay at Tottenham after talks ended with Fulham, but that could change quickly.

My concern here would be PEH holding out specifically for Atletico and then they low ball us. Time to see how much they want him I suppose. I do feel we won’t be able to agree a deal and therefore Gallagher deal will be off. Unless we skim elsewhere, would Lloris and Dier going allow us the squad space?? Wonder if that is what WLB was alluding to.

Pierre reps has politely been told by the club that he will see minimal minutes this season if he fails to find a new club . The Fulham offer is on the table if Madrid deal collapses . There’s optimism from the club he’s (pushed)accepts Fulham nothing can be ruled out yet . Crazy hours ahead x

Brinkmanship.

Probably smart from Atletico.

We'll be trying similar pressure on the player's people regarding saying no to Fulham I'd imagine.

Edit: wrote this as the ITK above was being typed!

The problem is there's no rush as far as Pierre is concerned he can wait till 10:30 tonight to decide at which point no time to push through the Gallacher deal
