Sorry I might be slow and missed something - I understand Hojbjerg might leave but why is Palinha mentioned as a replacement? Were there any links? I think their manager said they want to keep him at any cost...

Mentioned by WLB in the latest ITK update.

It is but there is absolutely no chance Fulham let him go now and not for any money we'd want to pay
Yeah even with the ITK saying we're interested surely it's an absolute no-go this window. Great player but almost 0% chance of it happening given the price-tag, Fulham's reluctance to sell and our priorities elsewhere in the squad.

Maybe next summer but not now.

if we do sell PEH then we should, with the money from sale of Kane we should be able to afford Johnson, Tosin and Palhinha

slow, unagile, turning circle of the titanic, tendency for a suicide pass or playing the ball backwards to players under pressure, blames everyone else for their own shortcomings. seems like a like for like swap to be honest.

Just can't see us dropping like 60-70m on Palhinha this window regardless of how much we get for PEH. Fulham just sold their other most important player in Mitrovic. If they sell Palhinha too they're under serious threat of getting dragged into a relegation battle.

Also not sure we should be prioritising a CDM destroyer anyway. Bissouma is brilliant as a 6.

I’d be happy for PEH to stay, as I definitely see value in what he will bring to the squad over the season, that said, for £30m I’d part with him even if that means selling to Man Utd.

We could have sold Dier, Dele & Eriksen to United over the years and pocketed over £150m and in hindsight, arguably been much better off. It’s one thing refusing to sell players to PL clubs when it’s players we don’t want to lose from our XI like Kane, Modric and I guess the three aforementioned but when it’s a player who isn’t in the managers starting eleven, a rival PL club will likely give us more for the player than we’ll ever get from anyone else. City, Chelsea, Man Utd and Arsenal don’t seem to have as many hang ups selling between each other.

All that said, I’d only sell PEH if Ange and the recruitment team have plans for a replacement - by Jan if needs be.

Considering Trix’s latest ITK re the HG situation, it does make you wonder if the Johnson deal fell through (which I very much doubt it will) and PEH did leave would we maybe go back in for Gallagher. Both Gallagher and Johnson seem to be valued around the same sort of price.

Ether way I’m very much on the fence about selling PEH and whilst from a numbers perspective I don’t think we’d necessarily need to replace him im also not sure how we would get on if Skipp or Sarr had to play the Biss role for any prolonged number of games.

Personally, I wouldn't sell him. Not saying he'd be a regular starter of course, but he would have the ability to shore up the midfield if things start going tits up. We also need him (to compete with Skipp) as he is an out and out DM. Bissouma, Sarr and Bentancur most assuredly aren't.

I'm not sure he is. This is how he's been deployed for most of his Spurs career and I think that's why he's been so underwhelming. He doesn't have the positional awareness or mobility to thrive in this role, and his inability to pick a forward pass from this position puts pressure on us rather than relieve it. He's much better when he's given licence to roam forward and he'll often pick out assists and chip in with the odd goal. Still wouldn't say he's great in this role, but he's a decent player. He's a sub-par DM, and I'd rather let him go than continue to use him as one.

So we'd potentially bring in a player on higher wages who doesn't fit the system, and get rid of a useful enough midfield player.. in a swap deal? All while adding another CB who isn't good enough to our list of CB'S who aren't deemed good enough. This is crazy talk
Has all the hallmarks off a Levy signing not an Ange signing.

You’d think if he was available for 70m then Liverpool would be all over that

Personally could see Sancho doing well here. Man U aren’t as good as last years league position suggested.

yup, once you take away the points they keep getting gifted by the officials they're very much a 6-10 side.

We’ve had ITK saying Utd have offered us Maguire. No one has said that we’re interested in buying him or if he’s on our list of potential defenders that we’re interested in. Really not sure how you’ve come to the conclusion this is a Levy signing.
