I’ve got a bad feeling we’ll sell Hojbjerg and not buy another CM. I know some people think we’d cope, but having an injured Bentancur, Lo Celso and Skipp as our back ups for 3 CM positions does not fill me with much confidence at all.

Just think it’ll be a hard task managing to get Gallagher done today, with all the other business we have to try and do today. Hope I’m wrong.

It'll be purely on the financials as we won't be having to schedule flights and long trips from Cobham so actually I can see how this can progress very quickly.

Clearly dependent on a resolution with Hojbjerg and that looks like it will be a sticky affair if Atletico only want a loan.

I'm fine with taking risks eg give Devine a game.

Think we need to put a bit more trust in Skipp who everyone's just soured somewhat on (and brace yourself because Sarr is going to have multiple games where he looks naive/inept/calamitous etc! And he will still be a great prospect!)

One game a week means 5 for now and 6 when a probable starter returns, with a prospect around who could be wildcarded, is certainly enough depth for me.

Ideal scenario is flipping PEH and Gio for Gallagher but surely time is too against us.

The chances of having to use 3 back ups is very slim. The backups would be slotted in next to the starters in case of injury.

That being said, I hope we get Gallagher (ange's alleged choice, even though I don't think it will come to fruition)

I'm ok with selling PEH and not signing a replacement if Gallagher can't get it done. Sometimes you have to break a few eggs to make an omelette

Fulham have now made a bid for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

The 28-year-old can leave Tottenham today if a deal is agreed and has been lined up as the replacement of Joao Palhinha who is hoping to seal a move to Bayern Munich.

Hojbjerg was considered by Manchester United, after failing to agree personal terms with Atletico Madrid after a £30million deal was agree earlier in the summer, but Fulham appears his most likely destination.

His departure would free up funds at Spurs who are hoping to be one of the busiest clubs on transfer deadline day.

I think 7 is overkill in a non European season

I want a decent backup per position, we saw towards the end of last season the big drop off when Bentancur was out for an extended period and Skipp filled in.

Maddisson -> GLC
Bentancur / Bissouma -> Sarr / PEH or Gallagher

He didn't agree terms with atletico? That's surprising, I thought they were just waiting on sending Felix to Barca to get free up funds to buy PEH I didn't realise he couldn't agree terms. Atletico pay good salaries. Maybe he's not desperate to go so. Will Fulham be a good enough club for him/ego? Hope so

Why can't you mix them about? There's no need for just 1 replacing 1. Skipp is fine for competition but you can easily mix about 3 of the 6. Bentancur can play the Bissouma role for example with Sarr and Maddison. There will be games Lo Celso can play with Maddison.

Not saying you can't mix them - just saying that I don't feel comfortable at the moment that Skipp is good enough as a long term replacement for anyone and Sarr won't be prone to a bit of youthful inconsistency to not have better options available.

It feels like this is our big domino to fall today and start other moves. Unfortunately, I can imagine a scenario where Hojberg waits for Atletico to come back in, leaving no time for a move to Fulham (or any other club) and thus staying put.
