Think conte has left him off the leash a bit like the Denmark manager does he’s actually a very good footballer all round but just lacks that top level dynamism

His assist last night was absolutely top draw from start to finish. Whatever his limitations he is proving himself to be integral to our play everywhere on the pitch

Hojbjerg reminds me of Roy Keane, an incredible leader, massive engine, puts his body on the line, capable of good passes but his technique lacking to be consistent. His leadership skills are wasted in this squad sometimes, Dier, Davies, Kane, Lloris, Son run the dressing room and have been here longer so it's difficult for PEH to be the dominant figure but if we had a weaker team, he would boss this football team.

Manchester United should have spent 70m on Hojbjerg instead of wasting it on an older Casemiro.

Not sure if PEH had gone to United or if we would have sold him to a rival but he would help change the culture of Manchester United.

I love Roy Keane as a person and a player but his talent was his drive, combativeness, leadership and stamina. PEH is excellent at all those facets of the game. Keanes influence wasn't with skill or quality on the ball like Hojbjerg. PEH is a bit of a throwback.

PEH could play for any team apart from Man City, although Guardiola loved him at Bayern. Those Real Madrid links earlier in the year weren't by coincidence as well.

I don't think we quite realise how good Hojbjerg is, and at Spurs we want all our midfielders to be slick on the ball, but at the same time I understand he's not going to win any team the league. He could be a workhorse for any team in the world though and boss a lot of midfields.

You don't think he can be a leader in our dressing room because of Dier, Davies, Kane, Lloris, Son (none of whom are massive personalities) but he could help change the culture at a club that has Ronaldo? They also have a bunch of players that cost loads/earn loads/have been there a long time/have way bigger egos than our squad.

Hojbjerg is a leader for Spurs, hes one of a few players Conte wants out there almost every minute of every game but all our boys are nice boys, Hojbjerg doesn't have to challenge anything. The dressing room at Spurs has been in good order since Pochettino first arrived.

Spurs have men that have been at Spurs for 10 plus years, Kane for 20, it's unusual. It's why I think our leaders our so set and established. At Manchester United there's a huge vacuum to be filled

I love how good you think PEH is but I personally don’t think he can tie the laces of a player like Roy Keane

I remember going to Old Trafford many years ago in an FA Cup tie and for about 30mins we probably had the better of it. Suddenly Keane decided that this was bollox and it was HIS pitch

The game was over from that point. PEH can’t do that

Agreed. To be fair, there were few others I've ever seen who could own a pitch through sheer force of will and determination. He must have been an absolute **** to play against, but it's what made him elite

I think Keane was fitter than a lot of people in his era, it gave him an edge, now its difficult to see that big a difference. I could be misremembering how good Keane was BUT PEH does play for a top 10 club in the world right now and was linked with Real Madrid, has played for Bayern at 17. He's not a million miles off just on that basis.

I don't think you do realise how good I think Hojbjerg is. I think he's excellent but players like him can be replaced if you are smart. If I was offered 60m for him I'd sell very quickly and reinvest it into key positions.

So whilst I love what he gives us I understand his value to the overall output of a team.

I’d image Dave Mackay was similar…

Those Madrid links actually don’t seem so crazy now…

he has been a machine, covers every blade of grass, never tired, added some smart if not elegant attacking… he’s amazing.

Yet another great performance from our Danish machine.

Has been nothing short of excellent all season and deserves every bit of credit coming his way. Has a very important knack of scoring goals at the perfect time aswell.

Well played PEH, captain material right there!

Gone up a level this season, not that his previous seasons were anything other than good.

Such a likeable person as well. If Man City don‘t run away with the league, I could see him in the running for player of the season if he keeps up these performances.

Højbjerg is our player of the season so far. Adding goals and assists more consistently to his game, reflecting his international form. When Lloris departs he should be the next skipper.
