Anyone that wants to believe that we have made some fuck up and didn't know the situation regarding any release clause and it's expiry, must be living on another planet :bored:

The situation is beyond frustrating, obviously, but some people seem pretty blinded by looking to do the club down at any opportunity.

I agree. The player's agent would know. If he didn't then he shouldn't be his agent. Player's also have their own lawyers funnily enough, who would also be abreast of the situation because they'd have a copy of his contract etc. Of course we would have known.

If this doesn't happen, although it's Sporting who have changed terms once again, the fan unrest is going to be horrendous. We are already hearing Levy out chants at every game and although he won't be directly at fault for this potentially falling through, it will inevitably increase those voices at each game. Come on Levy, get this over the line! ????????
Sadly I have no faith Levy will and I don't believe he cares.

It's always the other club moving goalposts etc. This might be genuinely what's happened here, but it does happen so often with us. Other clubs get their targets, we always seem to fuck around

I feel physically sick waking up to this, this morning. Signing 1st team starters is paramount importance.. it takes the window from a 7 to a 3. Gil out Danjuma in we’re at best the same strength we were in the first place

Sending you hugs hun'. X

Knocking up a nice Chicken Soup as we speak my little soldier.

If our only dealings are Danjuma in, Gil out, the window is a 1.

Fail to strengthen the bench with attacking options.

Fail to strengthen at CB which is a huge priority.

Fail to strengthen at RWB which is arguably our weakest position.

I don't care if it's Sporting who have moved the goalposts here, once again we are running around with under 48 hours to go with a squad way short of the standard needed.

I'm sick of it tbh, just want Levy gone now because we clearly have no plan with what we are doing!

I reckon the Sporting board have assessed the situation and Levy's current standing with the fans, and have tried to throw a curveball at the last minute, knowing that he'll be under extra pressure to deliver. Common tactic in negotiations when you think the other party has a lot to lose and doesn't have a plan B.

My worry is - nothing Levy has ever shown suggests he gives a flying fuck about what the fans or what anyone thinks of him, other than maybe Lewis. There will be protests on Sunday whether he closes this deal or not, so high risk that he calls Sporting's bluff and just pulls the plug entirely. Which means everyone loses out - we're stuck with Royal and Doherty, Porro misses out on his move and sulks, and Sporting get an unhappy player.

It probably is Sporting moving goalposts but Levy’s ego and insistence on being known as the “master negotiator” probably brings on these situations.

To be fair we live and breathe it with spurs, and probably don't hear the half of what happens elsewhere.

We are also at that difficult point on the scale of big club and money. We are one of the biggest clubs who has to be very careful about our spending, so we are fishing in ponds where big cash is required for players and we need to play it smart. Often creates frustrating moments like this, whereas Chelsea would've slapped 65m on the table and got the player early on...

It was obvious though wasn't it, we do it every time. I wouldn't be surprised if we get this done and then try for another one tomorrow if a deal falls into our laps. I just cant be bothered to panic when not in possession of 100% of the facts.

The thing is, if he didn't have a reputation for fucking around on the straightforward deals then the fans would cut him some more slack in situations such as this. You reap what you sow and even if it's not his fault this time - he has to take responsibility for that.

I’m sure Sporting have been opportunistic, but we simply don’t behave like a top 6 club in our transfer dealings. We penny pinch, when we have the money to be ending these conversations early.
