I left this topic alone but calling me vile and claiming racism was dead kind of says it all. Confused how calling people vile is somehow acceptable on this forum
It isn't, it's totally unacceptable for them to react in that manner.

In regards to what you said I'm one of those who "WTF"'d your original post, but ironically that's not the bit which irked me somewhat. I think saying this forum is closed minded when collectively we are clearly making massive strides forward when it comes to any types of discrimination is incredibly patronising. 10-15 years ago we had users laughing about Adebayor's dad "washing elephants", and commenting on other black player's genitalia. More recently we we have also had plenty of anti-Semitic comments, homophobic comments and sexist comments. Thankfully the vast majority of that is now in the past, and if anyone makes a joke or a comment about any those subjects now they are correctly pulled up on it and hopefully given a stern warning, if not a ban. I have often referred to black players as beasts. As well as this I've often referred to Haaland as a beast, Kane as a beast, Declan Rice as a beast, Romero as a beast, Sergio Ramos as a beast. Me not realising that some on here believe referring to a black player as a beast is unacceptable isn't me being closed minded, it's me being unaware that there could be a negative impact. Now I know this I will likely never refer to a black player as a beast again.

TLDR; I'm not always proud of the users of SC, but I'd say as a this forum is doing a amazing job of stamping out discrimination little by little. I'm sure people are happy to be taught further if it's done in a positive way.

Stamford I said your take was vile and maybe that was a bit over the top.
Do not forget you was accusing the original poster of some kind of imagined racism, I can almost guarantee he did not mean it that way in other words you put it out there and you was mistaken as such I can take that back unless you have proof that the poster had racist intent, he didn't.
Such a negative turn of events in what should be a joyful thread.
I've no interest in holding grudges racism isn't that prevalent not where I live working class England and I find it's pretty obvious when it occurs let's not try to find it when it's not there.
Please 🙏
Peace and love I'm sorry I do not think you're vile. Just didn't like the post.

I never described him as a beast or an animal but if someone gets described as such and then you go to race and find a correlation it's on you.
There's studies that show before 2010 racism was more or less dead but then there was a massive rise in reporting racism in the mainstream media
It was dead let it die
Mate, if you think racism was solved in 2010 you clearly do not understand or felt racism is to the people that have it everyday, direct or indirect. Racism has not been solved and we are still generations away from people not being judge by race on a complete equal footing. Things have improved in society but we aint there by any means. Understand the other sides perspective and you may understand where they are coming from. You would feel a lot better.

Sarr is starting to look like the player we hoped. Im excited about spurs again!

Eh? I've never seen those studies but I'm pretty sure that's a load of bollocks.
Racism, along with pretty much every other form of discrimination is still very much alive and kicking.
Things are improving but very slowly and as mentioned above, it's going to take a least another couple of generations to kill it, at the very least.

Sadly, while there is still ignorance and fear, there will always be discrimination.

But let's not this take away from what a player we seem to have discovered in Sarr, he's really got so much potential it's crazy.
The comparisons given to Viera are decent but I'd maybe even go as far as to say that he's a bit more silky than Patrick, less of a destroyer and more of a skillful athlete.
He's going to cement his place in the first team if he carries on like this, no doubt about it.

Mind linking to some of these studies?

This bit of improvisation is what I think sets him apart from Skippy right now.

Skippy is reliable, and he is probably better than people give him credit for - because he follow directions/instructions - but I don't know that he will ever have that little "extra".
Yeah, I'm a big fan of Skipp but he certainly doesn't have that sort of thing in his locker.

Reporting of racism was maybe dead, and then it started being reported again because the racists got a new public platform and some bravado and so it was unavoidable again. Laughable that anyone can believe we had in any way dealt with racism in this country, for fucks sake.

Pape Sarr though. He's going to be a one. I know Ange is talking about shuffling the squad about this week with 3 games, but I can't not want this lad to keep starting. We've seen glimpses now but it just feels like blisters breaking the surface of what he could become, and the more he plays, the more that's going to come out. There's a definite air about his play that just has so many markers of a really top class midfielder. Loves a tackle and an interception, quality passer, flair, ability to do the unexpected, dat stride length and pace, arriving on the scene at the right time like last weekend when he could just smell where he needed to run to. Dele shades, but from deep, in more than one respect. Players love him, manager loves him, fans are feeling it. This season we could really see some serious shit.

Lol look at the state of you lot fucking none of you would say fuck all if someone describe sarr as a beast in the pub you're all fucking cowards.
And as for the twat who tried to say I said racism ended in 2010 just fuck off I didn't say that at all and you fucking know it.
I said that there's after 2010 the reporting of racism exponentially rose in the mainstream media.
Somehow it got worse after 2010? 😂

You literally pointed to "studies that show before 2010 racism was more or less dead." Those are your words, and that's why I made the joke. But I'm genuinely glad to hear you don't believe that is the actual case. And I didn't intend/expect you to get this upset about my post, so sorry about that.

Also, sorry to the rest of you for keeping things off track (again). This was the last time I posted on this subject in here, I PROMISE! ❤️
