Think you might be right. I'd rather heve hojberg come on instead of him. When Bentancur comes back skipp might not even make the bench.
I want nothing more than one of our own to be a commanding midfielder. He’s not it. Sarr has already surpassed him. Sell him, get some good cash and move on.

He’s the 5th choice for the two more defensive positions in central midfield.

He’s a homegrown player that’s not likely to complain about playing time, and Ange said yesterday he’s one of our best trainers.

His position in the squad is similar to an Elneny at Arsenal, i.e. being a backup option and won’t start unless we have an injury crisis.

No need to sell or worry about, IMO.

Again, a likeable fella but he isn’t great. If he wasn’t Spurs he wouldn’t be here.

People comparing him to PEH bothers me, PEH is miles better

He’s in no way 5th choice, I’d argue we haven’t got enough midfield for him to be 5th choice. He’s our 2nd choice of the bench after Hojberg. He is homegrown and I’d keep him for that. He’s nothing more than last resort though. He would never start unless we have a serious injury crisis. We could get good money from promoted sides and we should take it.

Oh jeez, the lad gets pretty much his a first minutes of the season, doesn't do anything wrong and people are still quick in here to call him out as not being good enough.

I'll admit that he's not quite pushing on as I'd hoped he would but please let's not make him the next scapegoat on the line.

He's a decent defensive midfielder, young and home grown. People's expectations are too high, going by some of the criticism the kid gets

Like everything, why don't people wait to see how the season plays out before writing players off?

We're already dealing with injuries and with the international breaks this and next month and not to mention the fact that we'll have 7 fixtures in December, who knows what our options will look like in a month.

He obviously understands that he needs to improve but for some reason people think he can't get better or help the team through this season. Weird.

Spurs fans have a word, we don’t need a villain in the our squad. He is what he is. Like others have said he’s 5th choice local lad. Everyone else will be against us soon enough. Let’s stick with our lads.

Also, why was this thread bumped? He literally was subbed in to kill the game, which he helped with. He didn't give away any fouls, passed the ball well, was energetic and did his defensive work as needed.

What were people expecting him to do given we were down a man trying to see out the game? A goal?

What criteria could you use to justify saying " He’s just not that good " from a 15 minute cameo where he was instructed to keep things tight and help us see out the game?

My opinion was never to make him a villain. I love that he’s full spurs. He’s no villain to me. I hope he proves me wrong. Just my opinion on where he is now that’s all.

Indeed, such a weird time to choose to criticise him.

I honestly think he always does, just that some in here expect way too much of the lad.
He's very good at what he does.
He's a good squad player. Will do exactly what the manager wants. Is neat and tidy. You need players like this, imo

He isnt a bissouma, but who is?

I thought he did well when he came on today 🤷
I'm pretty sure that many of those that are keen to write him off probably wrote Ange off as the cheap choice, preferred Tapsoba over Micky etc.
Skipp is a pretty progressive passer, can play on the half turn, not as well Biss, and is positionally decent. He doesn't have the athleticism of Biss but he's a good understudy

It will be up to Ange, but Skipp has a challenge on his hands and must raise his game to have a long term Spurs future.
I'm also unsure how long he'll be happy riding the bench, many think he's just happy being at Spurs, but he's been vocal in the past that the most important for him is game time.
He prefer Spurs above anyone, but won't hesitate to move on if it's right for his career.

He’s just not that good.
Technically limited and not physical or quick enough.

Have said for ages if he wasn't homegrown he'd be no where near us just like he'd not be anywhere near any other top4-6 aspiring Premier League squad. Honestly even as a 5th/6th choice back-up I think he's no where near it.

Sorry Skippy but think you need to go to a bottom half PL or Championship team like Winks (who I think is a better player than Skipp).
