Makes you now wonder the price Leverkusen are pushing towards for Tapsoba.
Edit: meant to quote the tweet that had the VdV numbers...

Those are Euros, so more like £35-40m.

Still, given that Man CIty just spunked twice that, £77.6m (€90m), on Gvardiol, I could see why they are looking to cash in on VdV and Tapsoba

They want £43M. That's not outrageous.
If Fabrizio is right, they want that with the payment terms we've offered but would accept our offer of £35+5m with easier terms or add ons. Either way, in this market, that's really not a lot. Especially for a club of our size. We only think it is because Levy's conditioned us.

There's probably better value out there for sure . I just don't trust our ability to find it

That's why we shouldn't be moaning in getting Vicario instead of Raya. These clubs are all holding us ransom with such ridiculous fees. If there's an alternative LCB which a smoother deal can be done we should jump now and not waste time. Paying close to £50mil for a defender who won't be in the starting XI is unthinkable.

Wow. That is a lot given his relative lack of experience. One year in a top flight league and not even a senior international yet.

Sutalo for 30 vs VdV for 50? I’m not sure I wouldn’t rather have the former.

nobody can say this is Daniel going for the “cheaper” option.

I’m worried it’s the right one. For 50M and with all of Europe to pull from we ought to be able to get a guy that goes into the starting 11 without even a thought.
