How anyone cant see this is an absolute win/win for us is beyond help. Its a brilliant and clever bit of transfer business by the club.

Hes free - pure profit if he doesn't work out for us
Hes young, two footed, quick footed and skillful, scores goals, direct, and unlike anything we currently have.

Moaners gonna moan.

Last few years we have hardly had any players strong 1v1 offensively.

It is such an important skillset in all departments of the field because it breaks the press, disrupt defence's organisation and free up others.

Bentancur can do it, Son and Deki can shift past players when there is space and movement but other than that there's not many.

Lucas could do it but was a headless chicken half the time, if Solomon can learn when to release and focus on his effectiveness of crossing then he will add something different.

The one Plus seems to be that whereas Lucas was a right footed winger who had to run in straight lines and attack space, Solomon seems to be more in the mould of cutting in from the left or going on the outside which is far more effective in modern football as teammates move around that.

This goal was quality

Now picture him doing that (gliding past 2 players with ease) and the amount of space it will create for Kane, Kulusevski and Maddison if Solomon is playing off the left. It will be devastating. Opposition teams just can’t leave him 1v1 as he’ll make mugs of people regularly. It creates such a problem for them

hopefully Ange will let Son rest by starting Soloman when required instead of starting Son regardless of his fitness/health/form like Conte did

One of the most exciting things about this signing is pace. We were so slow last season in the final third. This is like going back to the Bale / Lennon days of speed and trickery. Spurs making some impressive moves in the right direction so far

Daniel: “Hey Ledley , ask me who’s idea it is to sign Manor.”
Ledley: “Not again.”
Daniel: “Come on! Ask me, ask me.”
Ledley: *rolls eyes* “Fine - who’s idea is it to sign Manor?”
Daniel: “King, Solomon’s mine!”

Hey, I liked Pienaar. Decent player.

By the reactions to my post obviously a lot of people didn’t rate him. I thought he was a good player. We wasted him though didn’t we?

If the manager is happy then fine. But if he’s an opportunistic club signing the manager is expected to play then I hope we aren’t making problems for him before he’s even started. The last thing we need is more squad fillers we need moving on in 12 months time, we’ve enough of those already.

I haven't seen him too much so i dont know enough about him to form a proper opinion but at least it looks like we are trying to get players in that fit what Ange is trying to do and suit his style of play. We seem to have a thought out approach this year and I are acting decisively and I'm loving it.

Last season, for whatever reason, Conte decided that too many of the squad couldn’t be trusted and instead ran a core group into the ground. Our defence and keeping was woeful but we should have been able to trust people more at times.

Looks like Ange is going to have options this season, I just hope he uses them. Solomon, Richarlison, etc will give us an opportunity to changes games

Interesting reading about him on Fulham forums.
They all feel he used them as a stepping but blame the club as they could have signed him for 7m when he moved there.
Silva apparently dropped him after his 5 goals in 5 games hot streak as he interviewed and didn’t seem to want to stay at Fulham.
They all think he has a very high ceiling but they didn’t warm to him and felt he was playing for himself not the team

I wanted him at Spurs for over 2 years. My only concern was whether he could adapt to the PL. His stint with Fulham has allayed those fears - incredibly impressive to make the impact he did despite a significant injury at the start of the season.

I'm very happy with the signing as i liked what i saw of him at Fulham and think that he'll bring things to the team the we've lacked.

But more than what the player will bring, i'm happy we now have a manager who's clearly given the go ahead to sign a small , agile, skillful player to attack opponents instead of looking for a 6 foot battering ram to just bully them. It's another sign, along with Maddison, that we will be attempting to play an attractive style of football, and it also gives hope that players like Gil - who imo has at least as good ball control as Solomon ,but without the finishing as yet - will now play and progress under this coach. Too many skillful players have been discarded or overlooked at Spurs in recent years in favour of big, robust athletes and while you need a blend of both, we definitely wen't too far in one direction.

I got that impression too that he wasn't necessarily dropped or kept out purely by Willian's performances per se but more the inclination that he wasn't interested in cementing a permanent move to Fulham.

As such, can't really blame Silva for not giving him more minutes for a player he knows won't be at the club in the coming season but does put a much different spin on the situation and not as a negative to Solomon's ability or indeed what he can bring to our club.

Guardiola tried to sign him when he was still playing in Israel.

His team were asking for £4m but when City tried to bid they asked for £9m to try and get more money.

There are quotes from Solomon confirming this.

Arsenal also looked at signing him in Jan 2021 but couldn’t agree a fee with Shakhtar.

That CL against Real was top notch. He made the assist for the backheel assist and ran straight on for it and slotted home past three. Love it. He could be great for us 🤍
