Players have been shown round the training ground before and still not signed btw.

Where did the news that he was there come from. Someone reputable?

Pretty much all UK (Telegraph first I think) and French (RMC/L'Equipe) media outlets and has been backed up by JJ. Trix also saying it's close barring the typical gazumping.

Before he moved to PSG, he was one of the most talented young players in the world. He's stagnated there, but it's a club in which that's easy to do. A move could do him the world of good, if he kicks on and starts to fulfill his potential - he'd be an incredible asset for us imo.

I remember the touted potential he had. So I sincerely hope, were he to come here, that he can re-ignite his career.

Mostly all the french outleta have been carrying this story but Matt Law with the telegraph reported the tour story and JJ verified it as true.

From the Telegragh, but been confirmed by JJ.

As you said though, plenty have been shown around and not signed. We had reliable ITK that Mane was, but he denied it.

As for Moura, as I’ve said repeatedly I’d prefer Mahrez, but realise that ship has sailed and would be pleased with Moura even though I’ve not seen him too many times.

The times I have though he’s looked a very tricky customer and I think the comparisons with Townsend are well wide of the mark.

Love the ITK saying, "in talks , could go 1 of 2 ways". I just think that means he signs or he gets signed by Chelsea :ROFLMAO:

Exactly, it's no different to when RM stockpiled class players and they stagnated a la Rafa. he may not be as good as Rafa was for us but he has the potential to be

I thought the same - that he had stagnated a bit at PSG.

But - I have just checked his stats for them and for a winger it's pretty impressive, hopefully he can become our Salah or Hazard

He's also the exact type of player we have been missing for so long

Not saying that Lucas is world class or that he will be our Salah or Hazard, but I doubt Liverpool knew Salah would become as good as he is and score 20 goals before Jan. Maybe Lucas improves with us, maybe he doesn't. But for the quoted prices, I would say it's a shot worth taking.

I think he would add something different should he sign and poch is just the manager to get the best from him.

Agreed certainly not Hazard level.

Has the tools to be a Mane type player IF he settles IMO (I actually think Mane is a bit over-rated) which would be good for us. Quick and notches up a decent amount of goals for a winger.

What you have to understand is that January is no different to the Summer as far as our approach to transfers are concerned. It's very much about value, and not wasting whatever budget we have on one player which would impact our other dealings. Traditionally January valuations would have had a significant knock on effect to the following Summer budget, which is far more important as far as squad building is concerned.

It certainly feels as though the transfer 'game' has evolved. This year is especially interesting and intense with a summer world cup and a transfer window that closes in advance of the new season. As such, doing deals in Januar,y especially with loan back arrangements to the selling club, are increasingly more attractive to all parties.

Those are two very different players. Tbh from what little I’ve seen of him, the closest comparison in the league may be Sterling.

Moura is a player that as long as he is willing to put in the shift mentally and physically under Pochettinos guidance.. He can become a very very explosive player for us and would offer us something quite rare these days when we play.... Pace, flair and decisiveness into the final third. Would be absolutely ecstatic if we complete this deal.

Not worried at all about his previous seasons at psg where he hasn't had much game time. Surprisingly (and pleasantly) his stats are impressive knowing there was no consistency in his performances due to playing as a bit part player (last year he payed 29 games 8 of those as sub and had a return of 12 goals and 5 assists) his always guaranteed to play a part whether it's assists, goals or being that player that done the hard work before Kane gets a tap in :sneaky:

At 25 years of age (best years ahead of him) the most important thing is for him to really dedicate himself to Pochettino and his football ethos, he will then reap the benefits and looking at around £20-25m for a permanent transfer... You can't go wrong.
