Completely agreed. Rose is 5'8" and can probably out-jump the Belgian who plays next to him. In the season just passed, he put in a very, very good season. One of the few players who gave 110% every single match for 90+ minutes.

Between the two left-sided defenders, it was Vertonghen who was "exposed" more often IMO, and it was the right flank altogether which was targeted most often. When Eriksen played wide left, that's when teams went at Rose's flank, and of course he was going to struggle with zero protection ahead of him, just as he did last season with Eriksen playing wide ahead of him.
Rose doesn't seem to always win headers, but he really does enough to make sure the opponent can't "win" and do something with it.

Correct, which is important for smaller fullbacks. If you can at least put the attacker off, it's job done, especially if in being smaller you have more agility to get to the loose ball first.

I think some people have 2 issues with Trippier

1) they can't see past the fact he was in a team that was relegated (this must make every burnley player crap)
2) he is only 3.5 mil ( actually a release clause)

Agreed, all of which is ridiculous logic.

Teams we're buying from should have absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the player if a given player has been selected to play for Spurs. People put up their noses at both lower table options as well as "rejects" from clubs above us. I suppose the only suitable targets nowadays are ones currently at Everton, Southampton, or Swansea.

as has already probably been pointed out, Dixon, irwin, baines, others too no doubt, came from an unfashionable team, all went on to win a stack of trophies and play international football, so good luck to trip and fingers crossed he has a similar playing curve

I'm unable to put it in a better way, but essentially it seems that a lot of our fans are snobbish.

The continuation of which is just ridiculous. Particularly amusing when many put their noses up to players we're linked with here, and they go to other clubs in the league and do rather well.

3.5 cant go wrong either way, he will certainly be worth at least double that even if he doesn't do well

Funnily enough I remember when Gareth Barry was linked back in his Villa days and the plethora of fans thought him to be average, prior to his prime under O'Neill. Look how that turned out. Believe his family are big Spurs fans as well.

Did not know that, shame he never worked out for us then.

But yeah, it happens just about every year now. "Not good enough for us," then that player goes elsewhere and often is considerably more productive than players we spent big bucks on and are still waiting to perform consistently.

In my eyes I think they're buying the right type of players, young ambitious and in my eyes, with a lot of potential. If we buy Martial and MS, I would be content with that.

Is this photoshopped or legit? As there hasn't actually been confirmation from the club has there?
I do hear rumours that one or two things on this here internet aren't completely legitimate (find that hard to believe, myself) but one can't help but wonder who in their right mind would bother to photoshop a smartphone screenshot of Kieran Trippier's first interview. It's hardly the transfer of the century. It's probably not even the transfer of the hour.

Just strange that they have this out there before its been officially confirmed by the club.
