Some fans celebrating his possible sale. For me , it depends on who will now become no1 RB.
Given, no RB is yet to linked with us strongly & fact that Foyth been talking about change of position in media, I would say he will be the starting RB next season. Are we going to the market or going to promote Foyth to starting RB slot ?

Foyth would be bold move - it could be a genius move by Poch or fail spectacularly.

Aurier or KWP. Anybody is better than Trippier who single handedly cost us countless times.

Foyth i’d be scared to rely on as a full time RB. Hell, i’m a bit hesitant to even put him on the pitch too much in the Prem. He takes Aurier’s rashness to another level. He’s got to prove he can cut that out of his game. He had 6 months of good game time to learn and do it last season and just went along not doing so. It could cost him his chance with us.

Foyth is not rash player. The only problem he has is, one v one defending that too from a standing start.
He has not been out of position when the ball & player on the move. His defending in those situation is top notch. When both players are not moving & attacker quickly then sprints, thats when Foyth gets caught and puts in late challenges.

He has only played now 30 odd starts in his club career. More games he will improve. But agree on starting RB start - he is not ready yet

He did cost us a lot last season as did,at times, virtually every other player (be it a defender with a poor attempted tackle or an attacker missing a sitter) but i don't get why everyone is happy to forgive every other player other than Trippier ? Go back another season and he was great for us. Now he's suddenly miles behind a very rash & almost permanently injured Aurier and the very very unproven KWP.

On the plus side, i still maintain the full back positions are the least important on the pitch as you can teach just about anyone to play that position, as long as the rest of the team is functioning properly, so pretty unfussed by which FB's stay or go tbh.

Because that's how SC rolls. The vilification he gets on here is laughable but SC loves a scapegoat.

I'm sure the RB links will come into play once Trippier or Aurier leave. It's always been that way. We were linked to Aarons, Atal and Semedo at the start of the window and none of whom have moved.

I can't think of any player who cost us as often last season as Trippier did. Can you name some?

I mean I believe we are looking at double figures last season, where Trippier made clear and obvious fuck ups that directly led to us conceding goals. On top of that he contributed hardly anything going forwards.

I hope we sell, as it means we will be looking at bringing another RB in. Any new signing would have to try very hard to be as bad as Trippier was last season.

The guy can be solid enough when on form, but his form seems to have long deserted him, and when on form he isn't that good anyway, so I don't see an upside in keeping him and hoping he rediscovers his form. Plus his lack of athleticism, and his age, it's the right time to sell.

I'm not so sure on that, they've already lost Godin and Rodri, as well as griezmann. Likely to be a very different team next season
More to do with Simeone’s system rather than the players within it. But you could argue the defensive line might get higher now Godin has gone. Maybe with Felix in too they will be looking for more possession of the ball rather than the counter attacking threat of Griezmann.

I have never liked trippier so I would be so happy if we get rid of him, even for 5m! I thought we had to pay to get another club sign him

Please God, let us sell him

I'm not blaming anybody for making mistakes, nearly every player will make loads during their careers. What I dislike is blaming or making out it's another players fault when they do.

Despite my age my memory seems to be better than most on here as i distinctly remember Spurs fans lauding Trippier the season after we sold Walker, with the general consensus being that we got £50m and had a better player at RB.

He's in no way my favourite player or someone i'd be be gutted to lose, but equally i stand by the view that everybody under performed last season (him more than most granted) but injury free and back to form, he's a very good RB who'll almost certainly chip in with double figure goals and assists. If we sign someone better then great, if KWP or Foyth prove to be better then also great (although i guarantee they will make more mistakes than Trippier along the way while they learn) or, if by some sort of magic, Aurier can put together a string of performances where he is on top form then equally great (note: i think an on form Aurier is probably our best RB but getting an on form Aurier for 90 mins, let alone a run of games, is a massive doubt imo).

Tottenham Hotspur defender Kieran Trippier is set to have his medical with Atletico Madrid today as his exit from the north London club nears.
The 28-year-old has been linked with a move abroad all summer and football.london understands that the two clubs are now close to sealing a deal for Trippier and that the England international has been given permission to have his medical with Atletico on Tuesday.

The right-back, who joined Tottenham from Burnley in 2015 for £3.5m, is expected to move to the La Liga giants for a figure believed to be around £25m in the coming days.

Wow, Ally Gold reporting that Trips could have his medical for Atletico Madrid today already.

Fair play. Great move for him, Madrid, great city to live in for a few years. Defensive style of play and he won’t be asked to cover too much ground in the flanks.

brought 3.5m , sell 20m when he is almost 29, still think this is a good piece of business. I think KWP/ Foyth/ Aurier can do the job

At least he did well in the CL final. Thank you and good bye
