Some reasonable points, but personally I disagree, I think you're either vastly overrating Trippier or have zero faith in our scouts. I don't think it should be too hard for them to identify someone better and within our budget, if they can't do that then I'd be looking for new scouts.

I don't think he adds anything positive to the squad at all now based on his showing last year and wouldn't even be too concerned if we sold him and just went with KWP and Aurier. That's just my opinion though, I could be wrong.

We also have Dier who could fill in.

Ally Gold bringing him up in this article gives me at least some minor hope we're after him.

While I would like to believe that I don't think AllyG is providing any inside information. If he did have news Spurs were working a deal or targeting any of the players in that piece I believe he'd have a separate story for each with "Football London understands..." in the headlines for those clicks.

In the past we normally seem to leak AllyG, Dan KP, Ben, etc. little bits of info as the window opens and this year we've not done that. Could be we are as Poch said doing nothing until after the CL final. Could be we are keeping it all secret. Could be we have tightened up a leak at the club that was feeding information. Who knows at this point. Most of what we are getting is definitely not coming from traditional Spurs outlets and instead teams expecting us to do things we've not done yet.

You're not allowing for the fact that one is 28 and the other is 21.

Its not as simple as saying we've only 25 million to spend to replace Trippier.

And .... ITK previously has suggested this would be a summer where we go big (bigger anyway!?!) so should be ok to expect more than matching money out with in.
If we have £75-£100m to play with this summer.
Trips out at £25m. AWB in at £50m would still leave £50-£75m for that star CM. And our two weakest areas significantly improved.

He makes mistake after mistake and always puts his arms out and blames someone else. At one point late in the game against Ajax he put his arms out and started shouting at the ref while the ball was still in play. Piss poor mentality.

It should be alright. He’d probably move over to NapoliCommunity Forum (or whichever club that Trips moves to) to continue his defence of the player.
I’m picturing him learning Italian to argue Trippiers merits on the Napoli message boards.

What fucking nonsense is people deciding that the 25 million for Trippier is exactly how much we would have for a new rb :LOL:

There was an article out earlier which claimed Palace want closer to 70m rather than 50m for AWB, which I don't think he's worth

I know palace are in a strong place but getting Zaha to sign a new contract and then pricing him out of a move is hardly going to endear them to their other young players.

Youcef Atal, Joakim Mæhle, Nordi Mukiele, Lukas Klostermann, Thomas Meunier, Nelson Semedo, Benjamin Henrichs, Denzel Dumfries, Pavel Kadeřábek, Danny da Costa.
Will any of these come in and genuinely make a difference, or is it just a list of RB's around Europe who have had a half decent season so you've thought "Ahh they'll do."?

Genuine question. I don't pretend to know every player across Europe...

If he's as good as people think then I believe he would be worth that but I doubt he will go for that much. What I would question is a value for Trippier of only £25million, he's an England international playing in a champions league finalist side so I would have thought he'd be worth more than that, I guess it reflects the kind of value in the Italian league and possibly our willingness to let him go and if so you have to think we have ideas on a replacement.

Haven't got a clue about most of them either apart from Atal and Meunier. But if we can't sign AWB that's a list of the RBs we'd probably be able to sign. Some of them better than Trippier, some of them will be soon. But all those RBs are quick which is more than what can be said about Trippier.

This, I was a fan of his but this season since 'making it big' with England something has changed in his attitude and for that reason I'd sell him.

I would want Semedo mostly

Wan Bassika easily first choice with me. Great defender. Then possibly Atal..... Although Danny da Costa because he sounds like a legend already. Like a nickname you'd give to your pal Danny over the park who scores a volley with his eyes closed.

They would want way too much for Wan bassika. Which sucks, Atal is good as well

A player Value is determined by how much the buying club can afford. If Real Madrid, Man City or PSG were after Trippier then we would be expecting £50-£60M.
Athletico and Napoli aren't as flush as the top brass so if we are looking to offload him, and the only teams interested can only budget for £25M then that is his value.
