Thankfully I don't think we'll ever have the problem with Maddison that we had with Kane where he'd literally play at least 150 mins every international break. England have a lot more midfielders than strikers, so with rotation I can imagine Maddison getting a good amount of minutes but not so many that he wouldn't get a break.
Yeah and I think the main reason he got so many minutes in the last internationals was because Rashford was injured so Southgate played Maddison off the left.

He's still very much a bit-part player for England at the moment and if Rashford and Grealish are fit I doubt he'd start either of the 2 upcoming matches.

Amazing, we have aeroplane physios now...

Has there been any update to the medical and physio team since Ange arrived? From what I can see, it's largely the same team as before. Maybe, previous coaches have been happier to take risks...

To be fair, if this is his attitude then sorry that sucks.
I'd wait and see if it's reported by other sources before making a call on his attitude. Ange looks to be happy with him he's seemingly enjoying it back at Spurs.

Could be a matter of Ange looking to ease in a player whose been playing in Spain for 18 months and doesn't have the best injury record.

If he doesn't play on the weekend then I'd start to worry.

Big if since it got posted from an aggregator account. We're only two games in. I highly doubt he is that upset over it. And with Maddison likely to miss Bournemouth he will now get his chance.

It’s probably BS but if so it’s not really a bad attitude if he’s had offers elsewhere and stayed put because Ange has said he’d play him and then hasn’t given him a single minute across both opening games I’d be pissed.

It’s one thing not starting a game but not coming on at all a few games in a row for a player as good as he is is souldestroying.

I must be honest I would keep him rested until after the international break if we can.
If Gio can and wants play there against Bournemouth and then Fulham in midweek this seems like the best solution to me. I wouldn't take any risk on Madders right now and we have a natural break period coming up with which to play and for him to recover further.

It's only been two games and it's clear that Maddison is ahead of him in that position. Either he is accepting that he is a squad player and not going to be a regular starter for us (as it currently appears) or he should go and we can try to get a good fee for him. His attitude has been questioned before let's not forget. He will still get plenty of minutes I have no doubt if he stays.

Bissouma needs to inject a little of that "I dont play for me , I play for the team"

Holy shit son, do you even pay attention to what else goes on at the club. If you can't see the night and day difference in playing under Mourinho/Conte and playing under Ange then I'm at a loss.
He only played preseason games though and they are utterly meaningless. Not saying he can’t turn things around but let’s not act like he has proved anything yet.

Likely to be back after the IB
That's not official though is it? Everything I can find says the scan results haven't been released and he's a doubt for Bournemouth.

Can't find anything that says he'll be out of the Fulham and Burnley games too?

For what it's worth, the EPL Injury Table has been altered to show a knee injury (!) instead of the original ankle injury, which is odd seeing as he was wearing a protective boot. It gives an estimated date of return as 2 Sep.

That tallies with what some tweeted earlier this week - bruising on the ankle but also a minor MCL strain (knee). Up to 10 days recovery.

I doubt he’ll feature at Bournemouth. I expect him to start at Burnley. Vs Fulham - who knows.
