We don’t need 3 grafters y’all. It’s totally fine to play with a #10 type given that he’s not a complete waste of space defensively.

This thread is starting to sound like the scene in Moneyball with the scouts.

Anyone know if Maddison has a hot girlfriend?

I don’t agree, you buy someone for a price you believe they are worth over the length of the contract they will be signing us. Not at the price you think they should be because of the length of his current club. Personally I’d prefer Eze however I still think Maddison is worth around the £50m mark.
So you'd pay £50 million for him in January?

It depends how much we thought we needed him at that point and what chance we had of getting him on a free six months later.

In reality probably not, no but player values are highly nuanced.

I suppose what I am getting at is I can't see Danny boy paying full price knowing he could go for free next summer. £40m is fair.

I seem to have a weird mental block when it comes to Maddison.
I mean, I know he's a good player and I know that he's probably just what we need but I just can't seem to get excited about the idea of him.
I'm just not sure about him but in all honesty, probably couldn't give a decent reason why.
Free kicks alone should get you excited seeing how shit we’ve been there for years

Yes but he won't go next season for £40mil, because no way does Madison play a season in the Championship.

I used to think Maddison was a arrogant herbert, but when you watch him talk football (post match pressers) he comes across really well, i'd love to have him at Spurs, technically proficient with great attacking numbers, he'd do well here.

But he won’t go for free next summer… he won’t play in the championship next season, which means he’ll have signed a new contract with someone. So this is a little different. Get him now or ‘never’.

Who cares even if he is a massive prick anyway? I couldn’t give a monkeys tbh. As long as we’re not fielding a team of Jimmy Savilles I couldn’t care less if they’re the nicest blokes in the world or complete and utter twats.

Yeah i don't really care either way, just an observation that he is not the huge arrogant herbert i thought he was, well he probably is, but not in my mind.

so either way, Good lad Jimmy if we sign him and utterly fuck him upside the neck if we don't.

He changed completely when he had a daughter. He knuckled down stopped worrying and became a model professional

I think the reason for me is he seems like a little bit of a flat track bully. I’ve never really seen him perform well in games against the top clubs. Just feels a bit like he needs the rest of the team to be ticking to really get much out of him and I guess the times that doesn’t happen is when Leicester have faced tougher opponents
Being a flat track bully is not a terrible thing. 3 points is 3 points regardless of who you play and picking more up from the teams you would expect us to beat would be good
