He has been fine in his delivery so far from open play as well, just been a case of them not going in with the same frequency as the corners. The ball in to Emerson for the disallowed winner against Sporting as one example.

Wasn’t suggesting his delivery was at fault. It’s more that he is struggling to impact the game in open play, either through struggling to get up and down the pitch or his lack of pace hindering him in the final third.

Slightly frustrating than neither him or Sessegnon have really put a run of more than a single decent game together at a time. I don't know whether it's due to the constant rotation, but neither seem to be able to find any prolonged form.

I'd still consider Perisic a decent signing on a free, 6 assists so far (and most of them fucking good crosses) is nothing to be sniffed at, but I definitely expected more from him.

Agreed, his crossing is excellent but a big concern is his ability to get up and down the line.

I think a lot of it is adapting to England and the relentless schedule over here. I think he'll come good, the talent is there.

Us not having much threat on the other side of the pitch isn't helping either.

Does need to develop a better understanding with Sonny though.

Not bad for an old guy.

gets a lot of stick, and yes his legs are going but best delivery at the club, that free kick was a thing of beauty, reason why he is our top assist

Superb freekick assist. This is the kind of freekicks we need. Whipped in at a good speed and dangerous angle to make it easy for our attackers and difficult for the defenders.

Perisic with his 7th assist of the season. Every single one of those has resulted in us taking the lead or coming back level.

Feel his very undervalued by Spurs fans at present.

2-2 Chelsea
1-0 Wolves
1-0 Marseille(H)
2-2 Bournemouth
1-1 Marseille(B)
1-1 Sporting
2-1 Leceister

He’s not very good.

but he adds immense delivery that kind of outweighs it, but second half today he was very good used his experience
his the opposite of not very good, his very good but the rigors of constant prem football and age are taking his toll, you don't play elite football for 12 years not being very good, his technically one if not the best at the club, its the pace of the game around him which is the only trouble

I've never seen a player so comfortable taking set pieces with either foot from seemingly any range and with precision.

his like the complete opposite of sessegnon, great crossing, poor agility, big game mentality whilst sess shit crosser, good agility, shit big game mentality

His delivery is excellent.

The only issue is we need more from him in open play. 5 of his 6 assists have been from corners (4 deliveries and a flick on). Not taking anything away from that as it’s very important but we also need to be a threat from open play and we’re getting hardly any creation from the flanks.

If only we could merge the running power and movement of Sess with Perisic’s delivery.

That's Persic circa 2018

I think for all the praise Vio’s (deservedly) getting for our improvements at set pieces. A great deal of credit should be going to Perisic for our improvement there on account of the fact he’s been putting in quality delivery across the pitch from dead balls.

Can’t remember the last player we had who could consistently beat the first man on corners let alone actually consistently deliver the ball into dangerous positions from corners and free kicks!
