I think the 5-sub rule might also come into play here. Conte seems to rate Sessegnon, so if we sign Perisic it wouldn't surprise me to see both him and Sess playing in most games next season and it being more a question of which one starts the game and which one finishes it.

Yeah for sure, Perisic will be the undisputed first choice, he's levels above Sess as a wing back but Sess will be a fine rotation option and he's proved against the likes of Liverpool that he can defend against elite players, he just needs a bit more confidence going forward and to believe in himself more, but I do think he's got a lot of potential. Next season he hopefully kicks on even more.

Just ask them to name 3 players in their squad who played 3800+ minutes (like Perisic) last season....
Age is overrated if player is professional & fit. Look at Dani Alves - still playing at highest level at 39
We were linked to Alves when he left Barcelona. A lot of posters in here turned their noses up at the idea. Then he went to Juventus and played better than ever.

Genuinely asking, could Perisic play as RWB? I know he predominantly starts as a LWB but couldn't he step into the RWB spot in a Conte team? The potential of FK as a LWB and IP as a RWB is what makes the most sense for me and greatly improves our threat from the wings.
We've seen Sessegnon on the right, so I'm sure he could, if required. Im generally a big believer in switching a player into a less familiar position, but if pressed because of injury or possible tactical reason, I'm sure he'd do fine.

As for both perisic and kostic, trix has indicated that it's one or the other, presumably because conte doesn't want to do what you are suggesting.

Great, great signing. He’s got that bit of steel too, top player. Shame it isn’t him of 2 years ago but hey, we know how aging works thanks to all the info posted on it in here

Eh. Would prefer Kostic. And honestly I think Inter are moving Perisic on at the right time, he's 30+ coming off a season where he's just run himself into the ground...I'd rather get Gosens off them.

Not a bad signing, just not a huge fan of how it shapes up the squad.

They aren’t moving him on. They are offering him a new deal

They're not really moving him on, he's out of contract. Not like they're pushing him out the door.

Inter have offered him a new contract, on big money too. They aren't moving him on at all.

That's a shame. Felt that Kostic would have been a really exciting and productive LWB for us. Hope we're getting a solid RWB in that case.

Same on kostic, but it looks like perisic is the one conte wants. It looks like Djed Spence for the rwb spot. Not sure he is a 'solid' option, but he could be very good. Unfortunately, he could also really struggle. We will have to see.

I said this in another thread but if we end up signing him it’s different level….bigger than Rafa and that’s saying something…..
