Hard to explain but I am more sad about Hugo leaving than I was when Kane left

Club legend and needs to be properly thanked for his service..a true great of our club

I’d just like to say Thank You to Hugo. One of the best keepers the league has seen. There were a good 8-9 years where he saved our asses mostly every game. Incredible keeper. Last season was poor but my god, he was incredible for us. Every keeper has his errors & Hugo was one of them. But all in all, he was far too good for us & easily could have gotten a move to a better club. Wish we won a trophy with him. Love him. Wish him the best in the glue factory known as MLS. I hope he gets a proper send off with us on Sunday. A club legend & a legend of the game in his own right. Thanks for everything, Hugo. Hope you get a testimonial soon. I’m broken but it’s time.

A great servant of the club. It's a shame that his final 9-12 months have gone the way they have but that shouldn't detract from what he has given us.

Probably an unpopular opinion but although he's been a great player for us over the years I would remember him much more fondly if:

(a) he'd left a couple of years ago before his form dropped off a cliff & (b) hadn't got done for driving while absolutely shitfaced
He made a mistake I’m not letting that detract from what a great player/ambassador to the club he has been.

He’s probably one of the most respected players of the last 10-15 years in football.

Hes not got full control of when he leaves, and we didnt draft in any potential replacements to allow him to go a year or two earlier (a transfer that wouldve been a minimal fee for us), so bit harsh to penalise him significantly for that.

Many players leave well past their peak as they get on in age but for me it doesnt negate their contribution to that point, for me at least.

Do we know if we have to payout some of the 6 months he has left on his contract?
Probably not.

If he is signing with an MLS team, then allowing him to go on a free is a bit of compensation in itself, since they have a calendar year season. He would only be able to sign if we released him early.

The greatest goalkeeper I've seen in my lifetime supporting Spurs.

A leader, a fantastic player and a true gentleman.

Hope he gets a big send off at half time on Sunday.

Feel sadder than I expected to. One of the best keepers in my time. End of an era. Goodbye Hugo boss. 💙

The right time for him to move on - but he will always be deemed a legend of the club and one of our greatest goalkeepers. Sad that we couldn't win a trophy while he was with us.
