Amazes me how GLC has been thrown under the bus over the years (he's also far from the only one), how people think he's not good enough, not talented etc. Yes injuries have been a big problem but he's a quality player if he can stay injury free. Seen a lot of Argentinians say he's their second best player especially leading up to the world cup last year and he was one of the best midfielders in spain when he was bought. He was also one of the few bright spots in a poor Mourinho season but he couldn't carry the team by himself. Being a bellend quoting myself from July:

You ever read people's comments and think are we watching the same game/player when people have a completely different take? That's how I've felt reading comments about GLC the last couple of years
And they said Harry didn't care... Pffft

I think it's very early to claim a win against the critics after one good game! I know he's a brilliant player because of how I've seen him play in other shirts but for Spurs the criticism has been totally justified. He's been so ineffective in 80% of games. Yes injuries and systems are largely responsible but so many games he runs into blind alleys, misplaces or underhits simple passes, or the game just passes him by. To have just seen him play for us you wouldn't think he's worth building a team around, and presumably that's why previous managers haven't used him so much. Hopefully now he gets a run and makes us all believe he can be a fundamental part of the squad but I'm not convinced about this revisionist narrative of how he was always good

He’s not maddison he’s more a play to play on the half turn and carry and play through the lines. But he’s a quality footballer makes all his passes breaks the lines and is now scoring goals.
He’s the right level of back up for maddison and to play as a creative 8 too.

Lo Celso is rising from the ashes like a phoenix.

The dude looked pretty dang good, hopefully can stake claim to that second role next to Maddison.

Always been a huge fan of his since before we even bought him. Even so there was a point where moving him on seemed like the best thing for him and us. Ange tho was certainly the best manager for him and I’m so glad he actually gave him a chance. At this point if he continues as he is then end of season we need to start thinking about a contract extension. A lot of time between then and now but his skill set isn’t a question, just injuries. Very technical player.

I like him a bit further back than Maddison. Think they could both play together if one can do the job on the right of the midfield 3

I’ve been calling this day for the last few years, always knew there was a great player there , just needed to play in an attacking possession style of play and be given a run of games.

Yeah same. He’s better as a creative 8, that’s where he can break the lines and dribble. But only in games where we’ll dominate the ball. We have a good range of options when everyone is fit

Honestly can’t wait to see o 3 of Maddison, Gio & Bentancur.
Honestly dreaming of the moment we see this. Perfect blend of profiles in possession. Just missing a tad bit of athleticism, particularly in the RCM role to cover Porro. However, in the recent games with Deki and Gio together, we’ve seen a ton more deep progression from Porro (something he’s elite at), so it might not matter. Love the options regardless as if we need more running power we’ve got Pape and Biss. Injuries really do suck because this midfield group in the squad has everything when fully fit.
