I think South Americans say Lo Chelso. I remember hearing Tim Vickery calling him that and he lives in Brazil and follows South American players very closely.

Most commentators over here say Lo Selso.
It’s the Italian pronunciation of his name.

It was so obvious he needs to play in a possession based team to really shine. Exactly why he was brought to the club to do under Poch.

But as usual fans are either too ignorant or thick to understand the nuance on why the signing might not have worked under successive managers who have no interest in keeping the ball. Infuriating.
Wow. Getting too good for the rest of us vibes here

Some saw that it was down to style of play and some just wrote him off, it’s a game of opinions.

No need to say our fans are too ignorant or thick mate.

I think he’s going unfortunately but what will be will be and I fully trust Ange and he will know that Lo Celso suits his style of play and so if there is any chance he wants to stay he will look to keep him otherwise we might replace him with someone like Gallagher who is a very similar player and homegrown.

Yes, no need to say it, but if you know, you know........ (Just kidding folks!)

This place is getting worse and worse for it.
It's getting worse on two fronts. First, people stating their opinion with absolute certainty. Second, others struggling to respectfully disagree.

I’d happily keep Perisic if he wants to stay. Play him as a winger, he’s an experienced and intelligent player and we need as many of those as we can get.
I think it's too many numbers unfortunately, unless Bryan is sold. But then I think you have imbalance on the right side.

He looked very bright when he came on. But he has in the past too. His problem has been maintaining consistency in the premier league. Whether that’s down to the physicality, his mentality, or maybe poor management.

He still has it all to prove imo, but if he wants to buy into what Ange is building it’s worth giving him one last chance imo.

It's hard to maintain consistency when your team didn't want the ball. He will be good under any manager wanting to attack

Top performers are great under any manager. Kane is a great example, Son had some great seasons under Jose and Conte, Bentancur has looked quality.
There's no doubt there are also players who work well under only certain managers. It's possible Lo Celso could click with this team. It's only one appearance in pre-season though so still much to prove. I'd really like for him to work out here though as he's very pleasing on the eye. Ndombele will frustrate me more because I think he's too soft, I think Lo Celso at least will try harder.

Always seemed to be hampered with injuries for us, had a few spells where he was absolutely quality but most of the time he looked lost.

But I would happily keep him, if he can knuckle down and learn the new system then he would be a very good addition to have. Wouldn’t be surprised if we got a decent offer in for him though.

If past is precedent, it's unlikely Mac Allister would have got as much game time at the World Cup if Lo Celso had been fit. As he's consistently been a starter in their midfield for a few years -- when fit.

There is a good player in there. A very good player, potentially. But he's been unlucky with injuries and playing in a system that didn't maximize his strengths and only emphasized his weaknesses.

Maybe ‘thick’ is too strong but unfortunately there are too many fans willing to shout out their reductive opinions as absolute fact rather than engaging in debate with balance and reason. It’s exasperating.

I’ve got no problem with fans having differing opinions - that’s why we’re all here. But too often we’re seeing debates being shut down with the most basic of logic without considering any form of nuance. This is leads me to think some just don’t have mental capacity or intent to see different perspectives.

I've always felt his issue at us was about not settling in as much as anything. That's only an outside guess though.

He appears to have the attributes that suit how Ange wants us to play, so who knows, he might just become a key player for us this season.

I feel like you’re doing exactly what you’re complaining about - my opinion is correct and everyone else is thick.

If that is the case then how thick and ignorant is the club?

We bought two possession based players in Lo Celso and Ndombele and gave them to Jose, Nuno and Conte after a quick Poch sacking. Whether they survive or not doesn’t take Einstein to work out those player bought with those managers hired was screwed.
