He NEEDS a preseason with us. It's crucial as the coach can establish his role early.

I've felt that he's kinda just been shoved in at times due to him being out for so long and Ndombele already taking that central role. We need to get back to having a really functional midfield and Lo Celso is key to that.

Such a good player in there. Hopefully hell stay fit this season and fulfill that potential.
Are the old rules in place that if a player thread is in Transfer Forum he’s linked or ITK with a move?

I think he would do really well in Fonseca front 3 if he carries on with his 3-4-3 with us, he’s perfect for the Mkhitaryan role being the one that drops a little deeper than the other two and is more responsible on being the creative force higher up the field with his quick decisive passes, I feel he’s wasted player deeper.

He just needs to stay fit for more than 2 weeks. When he had a clear run of games in the post lockdown end of season last summer he was excellent. When he is in and out with injury he really looks to struggle to find his rhythm.

Every time I look at the match details he seems to be taken off around the hour mark. Was the same with Spurs.Anyone know if this has always been the case with him?

I've never had any doubts about Lo Celso.

I recognise his play hasn't always been at the level it should be but to me it's always been obvious why that is.

Nuno needs to decide if he's gonna be a 6, 8 or 10 and stick with it as much as possible.

I don't watch Argentina but hasn't he played mainly as a 10 for them and looked good? Equally he was brilliant at Betis further forward iirc, although they may have even been as a false 9 at times.

He's a lovely player but he needs to stay fit if he's gonna have the influence for us that he should have.

If he can stay fit he could be one of the players of the season. He’s so integral to our team especially as we have so few good passers in midfield.

I still fondly remember that run vs. Southampton in the FA cup where he took on the entire team, cut through them all and set up a goal out of nothing

I think this will be a big year for Gio. As someone mentioned he is now a mentor at the club for Romero, and he is coming off a major tournament win. He has the ability, I just hope he stays injury free and gets a run of games going.

Ummm, did I miss something, is there a reason this thread is in the Transfer section?

Normally happens when someone starts discussing transfers in the thread. Suggesting partners or saying "According to ITK we need another midfielder, I think that X would be great".
