Fair, but when you come on the pitch at 0-3 to make a difference, and you give away the dumbest penalty anyone has ever seen.. Not such a strange thing to focus on.
You must have missed the Kulu penalty, easily the dumbest penalty ever.

I did actually, missed the first 40 minutes. But I'd say my point still stands.
If we focussing on penalties then Kulu is way worse than GLC. He didn't even bother making a tackle but just pull the opponents shirt for about 3 or 4 secs with fabric at full stretch.

If you want to make a point stand, then I say mine is a stronger point as the midfield got stronger with GLC coming on.

30 mins and 3-0 down? He comes on, the score is 2-1 to us for the final 30mins and could easily be 4-1 to us, not because GLC was outstanding, but because he kept the ball moving, and was moving. The midfield became more dynamic. He was the only midfielder trying to connect play. All the rest were just awful with the ball.
I just don't think he's good enough. In 4 years at the age of 27 he can't get himself to start ahead of PEH or Skipp when they are fit, and look how poor they are, so something is awry with this guy.

He needs to be at the same level as Maddison, pushing for a starting place in our strongest 11 or what's the point?

Maybe I'm harsh or just expect too much but I'd get rid at the earliest opportunity. He doesn't add anything an up and coming 22/23 year old couldnt provide the squad.

He didn't suit Conte, Nuno or Jose. He got injured early on again under Ange, but when he comes on he normally adds more than either PEH or Skipp. Porro looked rubbish under Conte. PEH look like a beast. Sarr and Bissouma too looked rubbish under Conte.

Forget the last year's under negative managers. Its about a manager that would play his style. Fact is, yet again GLC came on and helped make the midfield more dynamic. Without Maddison, we don't have someone that will connect defence and attack, unless GLC plays. Kulu is not that player. He is more dangerous running with the ball.

Totally agree. We were instantly better with GLC, he must of been carrying a knock or can't see why didn't start. His composure and ability on the ball added a lot and between him and Brighton easing off we were miles better with him. Hope Ange starts him in the next one.

At least he wanted to tackle for the pen, our defensive midfielder just wants to stand in line with the defense and avoid tackling at all costs.

I like him, but he needs to show he can stay fit and be relied upon.

Now, would be a really good time for him to do so.

I can't remember how he played under Nuno, but there was a period under Jose when he really showed his class. I know this as I was one of the few people who was dead against us signing him. I'm as stubborn as any fan when it comes to admitting I'm wrong about a player, so Gio must have been playing pretty damn well for me to back down and eat some humble pie. I think his main issue's since he's been here is that he was bought as an ACM, when he's not ideal for that role in the Prem, on top of that he's had to deal with the common problems players face whe adapting to new leagues/cultures etc and most importantly, his poor injury record combined with constantly changing managers.

if you are a sucker for punishment check out the Brighton highlights, Kulu’s penalty is next level stupidity.
Seen it now. It's massively dumb, but I don't know, I'd say they're on par still. Tackling someone from behind, between their legs in your own penalty box?

Mad saves by Vic though in the beginning.

Lol, pulling a shirt for 3 or 4 secs in open play is different from at least trying to go for the ball.

Agree to disagree. Also it's 2 seconds, just watched it again.

I'm not saying you're wrong, it's dumb as hell, but stuff like that happens all the time in corner situations. Usually there's just more people around the incident, so it's more hidden from the ref.

Full quote

"I'm just really happy and I'm enjoying this new era at the club with my team mates and feel more and more settled. I've felt really comfortable in training and way he (Postecoglou) coaches. I love his idea of football which gave me the belief that I could find a place in this team. The coaching staff have helped as well as my team mates. I think that the coach has got the most out of all of the players because he has a clear playing style that we love."

I’m more than happy for him to stay as someone to fight for the 10 role. He’s got the talent, just look at his performance against Man City!

What made Deki's shirt pull even more frustrating and stupid was because he did exactly the same thing against Everton but thanks to the useless reffing, somehow got away with it.
I can accept the odd cheeky tug here and there (fnarr fnarr) but trying to slowly undress someone in the area is just totally stupid.
