Spending Eriksen money...IF Eriksen leaves, we won’t be able to find a like for like since he’s so unique so we’ll have to slightly switch how we play but players like lo Celso, Grealish or Tielemans are able to create chances and would be good starts to the overall replacement

Prize money must be through the roof this year as well.
Something like 102m euros if we lose and 106m if we win. On top of prize and tv money from the PL this season and having not spent in a year, we should have a veritable warchest.

I don't think any reasonable fan would've wanted Moura sold given that he scored 12 goals as a rotation player before the Ajax hat trick in his first (full) season with us.

there are a few I've seen say they wouldn't be upset to see him go, and we could improve on him. only 1 I can remember for definite would be @am_yisrael_chai

Bring me Lo Celso and NDombele and I'm okay with Eriksen leaving. Not perfect but okay. Then add new RB and some youth promising player(s) and job is done for this TW.

Bringing in those 2 at the expense of Eriksen would be a massive upgrade for us. What kind of mythical season from Eriksen are people thinking of when we talk about him?

Probably the 'shit' season he has just had, where he got the 3rd most assists in the league.

Either that or one of his even better seasons from before.

Different kind of players however it’s still a lovely graphic, Alli and Lo Celso stats compared

Can’t believe most of what is written in threads about Eriksen. Still I remember how people thought Modric wasn’t very good because he did not score many goals or make enough assists. Oh dear!! If we lose Eriksen we will be harking back in years to come about the great player we once had

If Eriksen leaves, Lo Celso and N’dombele In would be extremely pleasing, probably about the best we can do with the pool of players available at the moment! Not to mention the statement of intent it would show from the club!

Would love to be able to move Wanyama out too and bring in someone like Berge...but 3 central midfielders is probably a step too far for us...January maybe??

Yes Berge also fits with that criteria. We're lacking a holding player with ability on the ball. Only Winks is good enough and capable enough to fill that role for us at the moment.

Berge, Ndombele and Lo Celso in with Eriksen, Wanyama out is about as good as we can expect and would give us great balance. Difficult to see all three arriving though.
I think we absolutely need to upgrade Wanyama and obviously must replace Eriksen if he goes. Really among the three positions it's Ndombele's that is least needed (we've got good box-to-box CMs already), but if he's interested in us he's the type of talent you have to go for.

This is what years of disinvestment gets you -- lots of needs to be filled in the squad and difficulty in seeing all the business get done. All we can do is hope that our recruitment is radically different this summer than it has been in past years.

Stud of a player. PSG selling him and replacing him with Paredes for 40 million has to be one of the worst bits og business in some time imo.

I agree, but at least Paredes is decent too. I would have taken him in our midfield for sure

Never been more visible, consecutive years in CL, stadium done, sponsorship deals in the pipeline.

Agree it’s been said before but it is different.
I think to be fair anybody would have said this last summer because we had just qualified for the CL again and expected to be spending the majority of the season in a fantastic new stadium.

Nobody could have foreseen that we:

1. Wouldn't buy anybody at all either that window or the next and, indeed, sell arguably our best midfielder

2. Would not be in the new stadium until April but have it described by virtually all as world class, bar-raising etc but also not have signed a naming rights deal or other major sponsorship

3. Would have 11 players reach the World Cup semis and suffer a massive injury crisis

4. Would reach the CL Final, further raising our profile and earning tens of millions extra, despite lack of signings and requiring us to chuck the domestic cups and seeing us suffer a collapse of league form

So knowing all of that then you have to say that this is the summer where we need to be different...
