"There is nothing new about Tottenham, I am 100% focused on what the National Team is"

"We know how strong the English league is, but I'm not focused on that,"

Expect full quotes from this radio interview to come out at some point and be your usual non-committal keeping all options open type stuff but I wager nothing is happening until after Copa America so we may have a wait on our hands folks...

My hopes are in tatters if Steve Nichol and now Craig Burley think we won't get him. I mean, those 2 are at the very pinnacle of football wisdom and are never wrong. Actually, they are 2 players who were erased from my memory banks immediately after their last showings on MOTD (about 20 years ago).

Nicol and Burley still seem to think we’re the Spurs of the mid ‘90s who are on some kind of lucky run and can’t accept that times have changed. In short, fuck em.

the only issue with us targeting completely professional footballers is they give absolutely nothing away in interviews or over social media about a potential move to us.

Wankers.

Wouldn't surprise me if we sent a delegation out to south america to seal it if we agreed a fee with Betis. Believe we did so with Paulinho.

If this drags on until after the Copa America i can see complications occurring with the fee if he has a good tournament.

He's giving the classic media trained response here, but I would be surprised if we made any signings in June.

Also it looks like Betis is increasing their aggressiveness with Borja Iglesias and Gerard Moreno. They don't have the money for both those players without selling Carlvaho and/or Lo Celso.

They are due payments on him to PSG at certain periods. Most on their forums think it's best to sell him before as his price will not increase much if he excels (already near release clause), it risks him getting injured and a deal falling through, and any sale can go in this year's annual financing.

We've completed deals and not announced them before. Ben Davies always comes to mind. His deal was done and he was training with us in America before it was announced. If Argentina make it to the finals on July 7th, I think we could probably hold an announcement.

I'm sure we'd do that if we needed to, but wouldn't most of the negotiations be with Betis and his agent anyway? I'm never sure how much players are actually involved in the deals these days.
