Maybe I don’t know how to read this charts but it had Eriksen as streets ahead for Dribbling. The vids I’ve seen of LoCo is that he’s a proper dribbler. Am I reading the chart wrong?

Other way around. Chart works from from the center out.

I think so, Lo Celso is represented by the green. Basically Lo Celso offers more goals, dribbles and direct running and Eriksen offers more passes and assists.

I can see Winks and Ndombele needing to offer far more in the form of assists than we are used to our CM offering.

Lo Celso is a goer, not a schemer.

I think Ndombele increasing on the assist potential of his stylistic predecessors (Dembele and Sissoko) will somewhat lessen the burden on the AMs. Don’t forget, his style should also mean that the AMs get the ball in more space, and as a result find creation of chances easier.

I also think that if Dele and Kane as a combo gets back to where it was, which with a proper ore season and no big injuries might well happen, other players roles suddenly become much simpler as they occupy opposition attention. That final season at WHL they were sensational, an absolute dream for others to create for. I think Dele in particular will love having Ndombele there.

The big factor will be Ndombele and hopefully LoCelso and Ceballos, all being able and keen to drive forward with the ball and make opponents commit to trying to dispossess them. Previously we relied very much on the AMs being responsible for just about every incisive moment.

From what I saw yesterday I think you're right. Whilst he did drop into space to receive he's much better when he's looking for space in the offensive areas as he's able to instigate things from there. He isn't going to be effective if his job is to sit and spray passes about (even if he could do) he needs to be knitting passes in the final third. He's similar to Eriksen in the respect that he's more effective in these areas but he's probably more comfortable in tighter spaces and more aggressive

‘Comfortable in tighter spaces and more aggressive’ that’s what I really like about him and something our squad lacked last season. Ceballos is also in a similar mould. Will be a fantastic piece of business if we can bring one or both of them in. Having a dominating and energetic midfield also takes the pressure off our defence. As well as Sissoko and Winks did last season our midfield was overrun way too often and that was due to Alli and Eriksen lacking aggression, energy and bite. They’re very good going forward but they’re not central midfielders by any stretch of the imagination. With Lo Celso and Ceballos, they’re both competent at playing in any of the 3 central midfield positions in 433. Add in NDombele and we’ve a fantastic central midfield.

NDombele, Sissoko, Wanyama
Lo Celso, Ceballos, Winks

Wow - that has everything you need to succeed.... strength, depth and versatility to perform in multiple competitions.

Forward wise:

Moura, Lamela, Alli, Son, Sessegnon
Kane, Diaz?

Again, lots of quality and options.

Fix RB, sort the Toby situation and we’ll be massively stronger next season.

A squad that shapes up looking like something that you've mentioned would be great and give the management a lot of variety and options to throw about.

My ideal 25 man squad if Alderweireld and Eriksen were to leave would be:

Lloris, Gazzaniga, Whiteman, Aurier, Atal/Aarons, Walker-Peters, Foyth, Vertonghen, Sanchez, Andersen, Rose, Davies, Dier, Winks, Skipp, Sissoko, Ndombele, Ceballos, Lo Celso, Dele, Lamela, Son, Lucas, Sessegnon, Kane

We'd have variety, a diverse set of styles and I think it would give our young strikers a good opportunity to knock on the first team door. I don't think Andersen is in reach now with is a shame and our right back area seems like it's not getting a lot of TLC but all in all if we can get Lo Celso and Ceballos it'll soften the Danish blow.

Decent and I can see it as a real possibility with the exception of Andersen as he's joining Lyon.

Aarons isn't coming and Atal ?? Trips could come good again. Anyway , wrong thread except that GLC is in your dream squad!

Just two fullbacks I'd be open to seeing as I think Trippier and or Aurier are a spent force as a double act if we want to grow. One I'm fine with but both I can't see the need for.

To take it back to Lo Celso I like him but ultimately I do think the squad need someone who can offer insurance should he come in and be more dynamic than Eriksen offers. GLC will pick up knocks and we are already thin in that area as it is.

IMO Dele and Ceballos could both do a decent job at 10, although neither is similar to Eriksen.

Both offer depth which I think is required for a Lo Celso type player more than an Eriksen.

If GLC picks up an injury a midfield of Ceballos, Son, Dele with Lucas or Lamela in the wings looks far better than seeing us have to line up with too many speed marchants with one track minds.

We were already very thin last season with no competition for Eriksen or Dele which possibly made them more fatigued and comfortable than a big club should see its stars so a like for like with GLC and Eriksen for me doesn't give Poch the depth he requires andnstrives for.

Ceballos can offer CM options, AM options and offers a little bit of a few players as you've mentioned. I think he'd be a sensible player to add quality and depth if a deal can be had but it shouldn't be either Ceballos or Lo Celso, I think realistically we need both.

Absolutely we need both. We were pretty toothless without Eriksen also.
