3 parties involved in every deal. Jj only gets itk from one of those parties. We obviously felt it was a good price. Betis wanted more.
True but he obviously hears how negotiations are going - and if they're going badly, then they're going badly, regardless of who he gets his info from.

I still think this happens once Eriksen is sorted, as a replacement. My feeling is Zaniolo, Ceballos are more likely to come in as secondary creators and can't see us dropping GLC money on a second option.

the thing is we won't know if Eriksen will be staying till the end of August and we need to replace by the 8th August.

If these developments are true we might get a pooh pooh from one of the big hitters. Otherwise I'm sticking to the poker analogy.

That said maybe we have chosen to expedite Ceballos and then see what happens with Eriksen before moving for Lo Celso.

Don't forget that Sky Sources are largely bullshit, or alternatively that this could be us feeding information to the media via different channels to force Betis's hand.

Either way we should remember that 90% of transfer journalism is garbage.

I think we will get Ceballos and hope they panic and cave with all the signings they have made/are making.

I think we will be back in don’t think this is done just yet.

There's absolutely no angle or way in which he is worth more than Ndombele, so if they don't budge much on their valuation I wouldn't be upset if Levy walked away

I don't think there's any chance we'll be paying anything like the rumoured Betis fee.

Good player, but not at that price. Zaha isn't going to happen at the similar fees mooted, so can't see this being any different.

Whether that sees us visit linked players previously popped, I'm not sure. But maybe Fernandes might now seem a more viable option.

Not saying I wouldn't want G-Lo, but I do feel we will end up quite far apart in terms of valuation.

Brinkmanship to ensue no doubt, but I can totally understand the club moving on if unrealistic, astronomical amounts are expected.

Why is this so hard for some people to understand.

Not aimed at anyone on the forum, mostly fans I speak to from other clubs every day at work.

Regarding the Lequipe article saying Levy was in negotiations with Betis over GLC whilst Ndombele's agents were present.

That's such a random thing to write, so random that I actually think it's true. Otherwise, why would you name drop him?

Pleasing, as i've committed at least 4 of my evenings (and early mornings) to watching Argentina play like absolute piss weasels just to watch GLC.
Guess this didn’t go to well then

This is one that'll go on and on to deadline day. I read/heard somewhere that betis would do a deal in the 60m mark.

It definitely seemed like Lo Celso and Ndombele were our priority going into the window. I wonder if now we have swapped priorities (Hynter with the Zaniolo links and AS with links to Ceballos). Get the Eriksen replacement in now(ish) and then revisit a deal for Lo Celso towards the end of the window if/when Eriksen leaves and he is still there with Betis needing cash to spend.

Not a rush with this at least as he’d need a few weeks off anyway. Get another mid in along with Sessegnon before pre season and this can wait until the final week of the window.
