Especially if we make top 4, rotating between the CL and league is a favorably position to be in. Would love it just for the potential of Conte winning us something next season. Having Bale and Eriksen back to experience that would be amazing.

Modric too.

Problem with signing Bale is that the World Cup starts mid November. You can forget getting him on the pitch for a good month before that as he will be avoiding injury like the plague. It will take weeks to get him up to speed. So might get 6 weeks out if him if lucky .
Pay as you play is the only way to sign him. Is it really worth the bother.
I think not.

I will try and find the link, but read that he only wants to find a team for next season if Wales make the WC. If not, he is probably done. If that is the case, what would he do after the WC? We have a group now that likes to work for Conte and look like they are playing for the badge. We may bring in a transfer that does not fit that by mistake but pretty sure Bale's only interest is being ready for WC if Wales makes it.

That's counter-intuitive though. Speaking from experience as sports medicine specialist, he's more likely to get injured if he tries to avoid playing in high-intensity games. Remember, WC fixtures are tightly grouped and intensity varies depending on who you play, plus if you add in the Qatar heat, he'll absolutely need to be in really great shape and be close to peak fitness to put up with the demands of the competition. One good luxury about next season will be the 5 sub option, which will allow Conte more freedom to balance player workload across all competitions.

We don't have to look too far back to see that any notion of Bale "taking time-off" to be ready for a international tournament is untrue. He featured in our final games of last season and then went straight into prepping with Wales for the Euros.

If he does come back, wouldn't it be poetic justice to see him score in the CL final against Real Madrid with a bicycle kick?

In all seriousness, i defer completely to Conte. If he comes back, great. If he doesn't, great.

Esp with having 5 subs he will be a great free transfer to take. His technique striking the ball is up there with one if not better great cover for Kulu

Just when I thought I couldn't love Bale any more, he's again pissing off the scummiest club on Earth by withdrawing from their latest squad.

He will be a great addition, even if its just as an impact sub.
His finishing and final ball are world-class, and it something we need desperately (no shots on targets last 2 games).

Which translates if Wales don't qualify he retires. If Wales do qualify he joins Spurs for 5 months to build fitness and play the odd game or two until the WC starts in November so a contract from July 1st to December 1st

250k a week. 5m total

Strong rumours it will be with Cardiff until the end of 2022.

Gareth Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett confirms: “Gareth will leave Real Madrid. His return to English football is likely, I think - but his future now depends on Wales and their playoff games for the World Cup”, he told @Record_Portugal.
So it's one more season and a club to keep fit at if Wales qualify? Not so sure tbh

Surely a transfer to Qatar is what this is getting at? Give him 6 months to acclimatise whilst still earning all those lovely petro dollars
