Yes it's a great highlights reel. But a goal every 3 plus games is simply not good enough for a club with our aspirations. I'd really like to see the stats and how Bale stacks up against Wilson, King, Deeney, Milik and Watkins before even considering it.

It’s all about the wages though. Well beyond us, even pre Covid.
If the fee is low enough I'm sure we could structure the package to make it a hefty signing on fee + 250k a week to make it acceptable.

You'd think he's earned enough by now to want to play football again.

Come home, Gareth.

Cool. If they could just pay his wages, I reckon we might just get this over the line.

On the plus side. Ricky Sacks and the weekend. Double pivot right there.

Everything we read, hear or see on Bale at Madrid is part of someone’s agenda, be it Bale (and his agent), Real, Zidane or even Dan & Spurs.

I won’t really make any huge conclusions based on biased information.

That said, I’d love him back at Spurs

He isnt going to come here except to us, dont think anyone else would buy him but we are the only club who also wouldnt be able to afford him. Also realistically will we win the league:? with him, possibly but we need to strengthen other areas and bringing him in would mean sales and weakening other areas... so why would he come here knowing he wont win the league etc.

Youre right it is a possibility in his mind but doubt it

Personally I think you are correct but then I'm not a multi millionaire who might feel he has something he may want to do before he ends up buying garish clothing and just having a hobby left.

Not many trophies up for grabs in Wales

How very dare you !!
The leek in a sheep's arse trophy ? is every young Welsh lads dream ?

Ok so assuming we give him a 3 year deal, to give him 600k a week we'd have to give him a £60m signing on fee. That plus his £250k a week would be a commitment of £90m before the transfer and agent fees are taken into consideration. The club has no income from attendances for gods knows how long, has gaps in the squad that need filling and players that need upgrading. Do you really think this is the time Daniel Levy would sanction that kind of a deal on a 31 year old with no resale value and a dubious injury record?

Madrid wont be getting a fee. They managed the impossible and given themselves less than zero leverage. He’ll either be bought out so he can move on a free or he’ll be loaned for 2 years with his wages heavily subsidized.

Sorry, I think I’m being thick but why would he want £60m plus £250k a week? Not sure I understand this.

I'm a bit lost as to why bale ripping off Madrid and not leaving is OK, but ozil doing the same makes him an arse. I know some people are bringing up the Chinese move but he's still acting like a dick a bit.
