I get what some are saying about his age, injuries etc but seriously, if you can't get excited about a story like this then football probably isn't the sport for you. Makes me feel like a kid again, checking Teletext for new rumours.

Some random Spanish Journo and Gary Jacobs who hadn't posted a think up until that article this evening - I'd weigh up all that's been posted and go from there.

IF it's true, and Madrid have moved the goalposts and now want us to pay his full wages, the only was this move happens is if we buy him permanently and he takes a pay cut.

However based on all the ITK we've had, not sure I believe this is the case...yet...
I don't think it is necessarily moving goalposts. Particularly as there are some rumours that Bale is prepared to lower his wage to 250k, which shouldn't be a problem for us. We are hearing very small parts of the deal, all probably coming from different points and people in the negotiation and not likely to be given to us in any particular chronological order.

Apparently Madrid want us to pay all of his wages.
Id imagine they'd like us to buy him for 200m but thats not gonna happen either.
They either deal or they're stuck paying all of it until the next window where they'llhave another crack at shifting him.
If Bale only wants to play for us then it'll be done. If someone else offers more and he's willing to go then that'll happen.
Even if RM shave 200k a week off his wages thats a fkin lot of money saved.

No one would be willing to pay Bale's entire wages. Either Madrid compromise or Bale does.

We’d have never entertained the deal if that was the case, I think it’s just journalists trying to add a twist to the story to make it sound a bit more touch and go than it is.

I agree. We wouldn’t even bother to start negotiating if this were Madrid’s position. But what if they’ve gone back on what they’ve previously said? I wouldn’t put it past them.

Remember , Madrid wants to get rid of Bale. IMO, RM will do the deal to get him out. No one will pay 100% of Bale. So, no chance RM gets what they want.

There are way too many sources saying same thing - mainly Bale's people. So, be calm - I am confident we have this.

They did that with China last year and Bale proved he’s happy to sit there and fuck about if they don’t compromise. I can’t see them making the same mistake twice.

The negotiation won't have got beyond one phone call if 100% wages was a condition. That it has got to this point and we are now hearing about it means one of two things.

1) Real are trying to force Man U back into the negotiation by pricing out Bale's preferred choice and leaving him with the option of either another year of golf, or Man U.

Or.

2) It's a poorly understood position by a journo that hasn't been in the fast moving loop but has scrambled for some info because the editor wants something on the back page.

I'm inclined to 2.
