He has always been more defensively solid and offensively, so it’s not beyond the realms of possibility. He seems very very composed on the back foot, and his timing is very good for a WB.

I’ve seen much worse from actual CB’s.

A bit flat footed, so got beat down the line a few times, but has the pace to get back.

You know he would put the work in to improve his game if asked

Considering all the hate and pressure he has received I wouldnt have been surprised to see him crumble and give up. Instead he has worked his socks off and given us his all game after game. Is he limited attacking wise? Yes but today shows he is quality at defending and is a warrior. So happy for him.

Like I’ve said numerous times the exact reason I wanted to keep him over Doherty worth his wait in gold vs players you need to defend against he will do the same ti leao

So pleased for him. When he was jeered by Spurs fans I thought it was one of the worst experiences I'd ever had at WHL.

Works hard; gives his all and is now showing his quality. Well done young man!

Gotta say I've been this guys biggest critic but fair play to him he put a shift in today against a really tricky sneaky bastard and even played a few sneaky bastard tricks back on him..... if porro coming has made him push on like this then happy days... I'll even take the docherty debacle to get porro and royal as out options based upon today

I am amazed at the hate he gets. Never asked to come to Spurs and never asked to play in a system that doesn’t suit him. Gives 100% regardless despite the abuse. He’s a legend in my eyes ?

He deserves so much credit and respect. Despite all the abuse he has been given in and out of the stadium, he just kept going. Can't hate the bloke.

I thought Grealish was city main threat today, but Royal kept him in is pocket until full time.

Credit where it’s due. Still a little uncomfortable in possession in attack but continual selfless running to support the attack and stalwart defensive performance. Keep it going.

Once again, when it’s a game where the focus is on defending he’s really fucking good. He’s got a future here in those type of games. Fantastic performance today from him.
