Would really like us to keep Doherty. Came into his own at the backend of last season, experienced, can play on either side, and he's clearly popular in the dressing room as well. Would be silly to let him go unless it's too good to turn down.

He isn’t a WB and Doherty is.

Conte plays with WBs. Doherty offers more to Conte’s system. We have to change the way we play to accommodate Royal, Conte has said as much.

They don't play for Betis, they play for Spurs. So now compare their time under Conte at Spurs.

Agree with this. Great attitude, fantastic engine, and a solid defensive option for when we're playing teams who will have more of the ball than us.

I think we need 5 WBs minimum for the new season to cope with the workload and injuries. Think we'll sub both WBs in most games.

I agree it also gives us the option of having perisic elsewhere if needed

He will get better sure, but he wont ever be what Conte wants as a wing back. Its an attacking position and hes just not very good at that. Doesnt mean hes not a good player just doesnt suit this system
