It wouldn't surprise me if he ended up at one of the Spanish giants eventually, but at 20 years old there's really no rush. We'll likely have more CL football next season, and I honestly think the prospect of playing in our new stadium the season after next will be very attractive to our players.
I think of some of the legends at Spurs who only played for us for around three seasons (Gazza, Waddle, Lineker) and I can't help but think 3 or more seasons with us is worthy of respect. Look at Bale. He spent roughly 5 years of what is a short career at Spurs. Dele will probably be with us for at least 4 seasons, maybe longer. Exciting times watching this guy on his way to becoming a football megastar.
Can't blame him if he wants to go to a club where he can make the most of his star status in a couple of seasons.
The most interesting thing to watch, especially for us, will be if we can seize the opportunity with this squad by advancing in CL, winning the Premier League, winning other silverware - and see the new stadium. But I'd argue that even with all that, we can't keep the megastars who want to move to Madrid/Barca unless we advance into the QFs/SFs/Finals of the CL where the players can make the most of their endorsements on the worldwide stage.
The brand of Tottenham Hotspur has to expand to a worldwide brand to keep players of Dele Alli's potential. Just as Bale was looking to go to a historic, world-wide famous brand in RM where players can be remembered for their footballing careers.
I think we are laying the foundations - with Pochettino, the stadium, and this young, achieving squad - to become a world-wide brand.
Such a good point. He's still so raw, yet is already delivering the goods almost every game. If he was a Brazilian playing over there, he'd be the next big thing in world football, and the superclubs would he queueing up to sign him. They probably already are.Has anyone noticed with Deli's goal against Watford yesterday, he has tried a few like that over the last few weeks?
He is so young and he is still learning and developing his skills, he is effectively practising during games, that shows a level of confidence that is frightening.
We had this conversation at the match yesterday, he plays like a kid playing in a park with his mates, half expected his Mum to come on the pitch and tell him to come home for his dinner!Has anyone noticed with Deli's goal against Watford yesterday, he has tried a few like that over the last few weeks?

The bottom line is that to Alli we will need to pay him £150-200k per week and be challenging in the CL and EPL every year. I think the next two years are crucial. If we have to penny pinch to pay stadium debts then we will probably lose him. Hopefully Levy has this.
Your post basically says 'his face doesn't look loyal'.I said it when he first joined us, he's the type of character who will leave when bigger clubs with bigger paychecks come calling. Being young, good-looking, charismatic and with that bit of arrogance in him, he doesnt look at all like a person who would pledge loyalty. I might be wrong and will get bashed here, but I'm sticking to my words. He'll make some noise end of next season, if not this season.

We don't have to, it's up to him and his agent to understand our financial reality.
Can't believe you need to ask when Eric Dier is also at the club. Why you bringing LGBT into it brah?
