I don’t know he just reminds me of Yarmolenko at west ham

Doesn't have to be a bad thing. Yarmolenko basically doesn't work hard defensively and is therefore a bit of a liability. Kulu is the opposite. I think that Yarmolenko would have had a much better career if he had hard working defensive play to his game. I also think that Kulu has more potential, so while he may currently be a bit of a Yarmolenko at the moment, he can be much better - and I mean that in his offensive attributes.

Yarmolenko has been wrecked by injuries which have led to him becoming a bit of a stroller. In his younger days he was pretty dynamic.

Showed glimpses of what he can do and like many said, intelligent, mature, good decision making.

Love the kind of balls him and Bentacur play, the kind of passes that doesn’t require extra touches to control, into stride, that facilitates the next decision.

But I think many missed this key point - it was such a positive state that we could bring on Bentacur Bergwijn and Kulu as substitutes. We need players who can come on to make an instant impact.

And we had Skipp n Dier injured. Sessegnon didn’t even make matchday squad.

Our squad is really more complete and there will be plenty of games from now till end of season where Kulu or Bergwijn will make a telling contribution.

Top 4 and FA cup ?? ?

Has only played 800 mins this season, which is around half of what Lucas has played for example. He'll get sharper over the next few weeks and get more power in his running, which will make us more dangerous on the break. He also gets into excellent positions in the box- his average shot distance for Juve is 14 yards (Vs Son at 16 yards for us), and he's in the 91st percentile for touches in the box for attacking midfielders/wingers (in a not-so-great Juve side; source FBref).

And he's left footed of course. Refreshing to have somebody able to cut inside and open up different options (shooting, lay offs, through balls etc). His passing isn't Kane level of course, but it's good- 97th percentile for long pass completion.

Even though his left peg of course is not on par with Bale’s, he does have a decent shot. And having him cutting in and shooting from the right should give us another goal scoring threat.

21 year old on his debut in a new country/league after probably 3 training sessions with his teammates.

I was really happy with him. Put 2 assists on a platter for teammates. Did not look out of place physically. Technical quality, work rate + football iq.

if anybody was disappointed, they have incredibly unrealistic expectations. He’s not a pacy winger and isn’t supposed to be one.

I see everyone took to Bentancur very quickly and already loving him, and yes I think he’ll be good for us.

But I’m convinced Kuluvekski will have a better career for us and be more successful, he’s 21 and has an incredible football brain.

Kulu! Kulu! Kulu!

So I just watched the game back and I have no idea how anyone can say he’s slow. He had 2 counter attack breaks and was obviously assessing situation and not at full pelt. If he plays on right he will invariably cut inside. Is he lightening quick no, but I’m sure nobody thought he was. For a big guy he has decent pace, I’m not sure what his best position will be because that cut back is going to be very predictable. But he really did nothing wrong and should have had an assist.

I genuinely cannot believe what I'm reading here. I know we're all reactionary at times, but are people really saying this kid isn't good enough after 15(!!!) minutes? Where he created 2 very good goal-scoring chances?

Cutting inside would be much harder to deal with if we had a RWB who could overlap and put decent crosses into the box.

People that are disappointed that he isnt a Diaz/Son type of player only have themselves to blame lol. They have clearly never seen him play before and then just makes stuff up in their own imagination about his skillset and ability.

Same thing goes for Bentancur who is now supposedly a city type signing and a future captain after doing a nice trick on the box, playing 4/5 3-5 meter passes, having one or two interception when Brighton where just aimlessly trying to get the ball forward and getting a yellow after been done by Bissouma.

Calm down with the hyperbole, not everything is exceptional or amazing nor dreadful and catastropic. Most things are infact average or decent.
