Have both shown extended periods of top form and performances. Both in 2019-20 obviously when both were at their best, but reaching those levels and even surpassing them is def possible, given their ages. Kulusevski’s Parma season was elite and Bentancur was consistently excellent under Sarri. Irreplaceable player in Scudetto campaign.

Well then guess what. Sir Alex thought he was super important, and at the end of the day, was a key player in a title winning side. He had potential back in 2012. Just cuz he didn’t realize it doesn’t mean he was incapable of doing so. Same with these two players. Let’s see them in extended periods of action before judging.

You're gonna be disappointed if you're expecting excellent quality from Bentancur.
Depends how you define quality. Is he going to be spraying passes, breaking lines and scoring goals? No, that’s not his game. Does he have good ball retention, a high football IQ, great positional awareness and is a strong and regular ball winner? Yes. Imo he’s a textbook Conte midfielder.

Also - the fee for him is almost certainly higher because of the fact that this is a double swoop and Juve would rather us pay more for Kulu than Betancour because of the sell off fee attached to the later. So I suspect we're getting a 'deal' on Betancour if we're paying 40 mil euros for Kulu.
That would be the most Spurs move ever. We can't get enough of that financial sleight of hand fuckery.

The Swede leaves the Juventus club with the formula of an onerous loan of 5 million with the obligation of redemption to 35 in case of qualification in the Champions League and half of the appearances. The former Parma and Atalanta is expected in the next few hours in London. The negotiation for Bentancur at Tottenham is also closing . Upon entry, the bianconeri will close for the arrival of Zakaria.

Nice. Now if we can just get through the night without one of Europe’s elite deciding to mug us off and grab him then that will be a very tidy addition to the squad.

The club seem to be pulling it out the best they can in these current circumstances. Good job. Excited for these last 48hrs!

Woop Woop. Looks like we're actually gonna sign someone!

After all this negative Juve fan chat I thought I'd see what they thought about him on their forum a year ago and let's just say, things were a bit different back then...

----------------------

- another great game , i love the guy <3

- Probably his best individual performance with us so far, was dangerous and fully involved from the first minute to the last while also running his ass off, on those two misses we can also give credit to the GK who got lucky aswell as Kulusevski showing his age afterall, but what's important is that all this is part of the learning curve and overall he still had a MOTM performance today. He is slowly but surely beggining to live up to expectations.

- Before the match he said I can’t wait to show everyone what I can do. I love this kid’s mentality.

- Man, I love Balkan players.

- He's on the right track. Awesome

- Great performance from him. He's young, he can get sharper at finishing but the potential is pretty great he's just young and raw

- Needs to be a starter..where and how and with who i dont know. But can't bench this player.

- Agreed. He’s going to have peaks and troughs over the next couple of seasons whilst he establishes himself in a top team like ours but the guy is pure class. Definitely a future top player.

- Played his balls off today

- I'm not sold on that guy yet. That was a mediocre game versus Genao B imo, good goal, great assist, then horrible misses and ball losses. But is still young and shows the grinta that i want in every juve player.

- First half yesterday he was unstoppable, Genoa had no idea how to stop him and he was getting whatever he wanted. He's so cool in the penalty area and is great at finding teammates in tight spaces. Between the game yesterday and the 2nd half against Milan he's been outstanding. Created so many chances.

--------------------------

Moral of the story is, football fans are fickle as fuck and whether they think a player is good or shit basically depends on which way the wind's blowing that day.

I personally don't have an opinion on whether Kulusevski will be good or not, but hopefully this at least balances out some of the recent negativity.
