Please explain your thinking here? I don’t mind him but as a creator Diaz is simply head and shoulders above him.

According to the PL website.

Kulusevski - Appearances - 8
Goals - 2
Assists - 4
Passes - 225
Passes per match - 28.13
Big Chances Created - 4
Crosses - 15
Cross accuracy - 20%
Through balls - 5
Accurate long balls - 2

Diaz - Appearances - 6
Goals - 2
Assists - 0
Passes - 233
Passes per match - 38.83
Big Chances Created - 1
Crosses - 6

Yep. Head and shoulders above :cautious:

To claim Diaz is head and shoulders above him in terms of creativity is one of the most inaccurate statements I've read on here.

The eyes tell you that's bullshit and so do the figures.

In the league Diaz has two goals and no assists from what I can tell. Kulu has two goals and several assists...and huge contributions in big away games like at City.

Nothing to do with being bias, or that we missed out on Diaz.

That's just the objective state of play so far.

And you also have to consider the overall quality of the two sides and where they're at in terms of their development, so in many ways it's been a tougher transition for Kulu.

Anyway both very good players and personally I prefer that we ended up with Kulu (with hindsight) ..more of what we need.

I like Kulu I have said this 3 times now, he’s a good signing. But as a football spectator u have to see Diaz is a level up. It’s why we tried to sign him? AGAIN ideally we should have been after both.

But you're climbing down, Donki.

First you stated that Diaz is a cut above Kulusevski when it comes to creating, and @spurs mental showed you that's provably wrong.

So you change your opinion to "actually I just like watching Diaz more than Kulusevski".

Fair play. We all enjoy different things in players. But your initial statement was just wrong.

Fair enough.

Without him we'd be out of the top 4 race. He might turn out to be one of the most important signings we've made in the last 10 years if he and Kane get us top 4.

I don’t get this need for justification of out signings. It’s purely tribal bullshit, Diaz was our target and we missed out, swallow it. KULU is a good signing no doubt but there is no need for chest puffing. Dan we not admit if we had both we would be in a hell of a better position

You're having a bit of a mare to be honest Donk. You're asking people to explain their thinking, and then questioning them for explaining?

You almost seem annoyed that Kulusevski isn't as shit as you want him to be.

I’m not annoyed, I’m glad we signed him, where have I ever said he was shit? I thought him and Bentancur were good signings.

I wasnt aiming at you - generally we will be biased as fans. I think both look great - Kulu is less flashy but more technical whilst Diaz is certainly more flashy and direct etc

I think both would have been great - both serving different purposes.

Agree but I am not sure that the plan was to get both in. My other point was that I am glad he's not at the scum. Seems to much of a good lad to play for them anyway!

Hey mate, it’s not tribal bullshit at all. You stated that Diaz is a far better creator and a much better player. No doubting that Diaz is a good player but that’s a bit of an over the top statement and people are rightly in my opinion challenging it.

This season is the first season in the career of Diaz where he has actually been very good. Last season he got 6 goals and 5 assists in 30 games in the Portuguese league. At the same age as Kulu he was playing in the Colombian leagues.

To say he is leagues above as a creator is simply wrong. Kulu got 10 goals and 9 assists as a 19 year old. Diaz has only ever recorded 5 assists, and only this season has got into double figures in goals in a much inferior league.

Both are clearly very good players and the same as you saying that people should accept Diaz, I think you are being very harsh on an incredibly gifted 21 year old in our team, who has clearly shown a more creative spark than Diaz, who is more of a Son type player.

You make me wish I'd just kept my fat mouth shut.

Fantastic post!

This just isn't true at all. Since Diaz made his Liverpool Debut he is 1st, yes 1st, in chances created. Does that sound like a Son type player to you? That's just a lazy comparison that doesn't stack up. Diaz is excellent in build up play, something Son isn't.

Diaz is playing in a title winning elite side so he will naturally find it easier, but I think he is the more finished product at his age.

I am happy we have Kulu, but both would have been really ideal and Diaz could very well go on to absolutely smash this league.

Love you. You're becoming my new @yankspurs (still love you, Hank, AKA Brandon)

Diaz is quick and does stepovers though... Don't come in here with facts ?

Anyway I don't like the Diaz talk. Would have loved him too, but Deki is one hell of a player. That feeling of anticipation when he gets the ball on his left foot on the edge of the area is magic. Its why I watch football. Not many players have that ability. Good times

Diaz and Kulu are completely different players.

Diaz is more of a Son/Mane-like, with electric pace, and a great finisher. Whereas, Kulu is more in the De Bruyne mould (who also started his career as a winger), being more selfless and creative, with a great work rate.

Both are great players and fit their respective team's systems incredibly well.

Fuck Diaz.

We've signed a very good player who (so far) has shown he's an intelligent footballer and has something we have been lacking from too many players for far too long..........consistency.

He's reliable and consistent. Exactly what we've been missing and exactly what's needed. A couple of similar additions to the squad would really start to turn things our way I reckon.

The fact that we’re even having this debate goes to show what a good signing Kulusevski has been.

Personally I think we needed someone technically very sound who will obviously contribute a lot of goals and assists as well as working hard and buying into Conte’s vision. Kulusevski fits that bill nicely. Diaz would’ve been a nice addition, but I think we needed Kulusevski more. He may well have a higher ceiling too.

Exactly my sentiments…let’s just concentrate on and enjoy the player we signed rather than the one we didn’t.
