Quoting that times article
Davinson Sánchez is weighing up a move to Spartak Moscow after the Russian club agreed a fee of €15 million (about £13 million) for the Tottenham Hotspur defender.

Sánchez, 27, has also attracted interest from Real Betis, Sevilla and Galatasaray but Spartak have so far made the highest bid. He has struggled to live up to expectations since joining Spurs from Ajax for £42 million in 2017.

Russian clubs remain banned from European competition as the war in Ukraine continues and any deal between Spurs and Spartak may be the most significant transfer between an English and Russian club since it began.

Tottenham are monitoring Tosin Adarabioyo as one of the two centre backs they could sign this summer. The Fulham defender has also beenlinked with Napoli, while Spurs remain keen on Micky van de Ven, the Wolfsburg defender.

Elsewhere, West Ham United have bid almost £40 million for Conor Gallagher as they look to rebuild their side after the £105 million sale of Declan Rice to Arsenal.

Gallagher, 23, wants to leave Chelsea, who value him at about £45 million as he has two years left on his contract. Tottenham Hotspur are also keen to add energy to midfield but it is not clear whether Chelsea would sell to their north London rivals. Gallagher started 18 of 35 league matches last season after he returned to Chelsea from a successful loan spell at Crystal Palace.

Palace tried to sign Gallagher after he scored eight goals, set up another three and was their 2021-22 player of the year. He made a six-man shortlist for the PFA young player of the year award in 2022. His form helped him win the first of his four England caps in November 2021.
Chelsea are willing to sell him as they plan to strengthen midfield and have been trying to sign Moises Caicedo, valued at £100 million by Brighton & Hove Albion, and are interested in Mohammed Kudus of Ajax.

West Ham have moved closer to a deal for Carlos Borges, the Manchester City winger, for about £15 million. The 19-year-old from Portugal has never played for City’s first team since joining in 2015 but scored a hat-trick in a Uefa Youth League match against Sevilla in September last season. City will include a buy-back clause.

West Ham are also looking at João Palhinha, of Fulham. Palhinha, however, suffered a suspected dislocated shoulder in a pre-season friendly against Brentford on Sunday. West Ham increased their bid for the 28-year-old to £50 million late last week but were not willing to go any higher.
Southampton are interested in Hamza Choudhury, the Leicester City midfielder who was on loan at Watford last season. Choudhury, 25, has one year left on his contract at the King Power Stadium.

Tottenham Hotspur have accepted a bid of €15 million (£12.9 million) from Spartak Moscow for Davinson Sanchez.
Personal terms though have not yet been agreed, and Sanchez is understood to have reservations at this point. He has also attracted interest from Real Betis, Sevilla and Galatasaray, and, though the situation could change, there is currently scepticism as to whether he will agree to the move.
Russian clubs are currently banned from European competition and for any player there would be security and ethical concerns about moving to the country while the war continues. Black players have also been frequently subject to racist abuse while playing in Russia.
If he does go, Sanchez, who is out of contract next year, could be followed out of Tottenham by fellow centre-backs Japhet Tanganga and Joe Rodon this summer, both of whom are available for a sale or a loan.

Hopefully he cries it off and we can work out something better for him. Deserves better than to go out there with everything that entails with being a black player in the Russian league.

Not only that but we'd literally take money soaked in the blood and suffering of Ukrainians. Russia is a terrorist state and it's appealing we are even considering the bid.

I know Spurs are generally tone deaf, but doing a deal with a Russian club is surely a massive no-no right now with the situation in Ukraine?

At least if we have accepted their offer other clubs will now know what we are willing to sell at, hopefully provoked some other offers out.

I think he’ll look for others to come in for him but if he’s left the tour then it must be close.

As others have said, no different to any club doing a deal with a Saudi club. Neither are ethically right.
Saudis are no saints but you don't understand the situation if you think it's similar. Russia is destroying an entire nation and starving millions through their blockade of Ukrainian grains. The weaponised energy supplies and are threatening Europe with nuclear annihilation all day long.

No I don’t think you understand the situation. Unless you’re comfortable with Saudi Arabia causing genocide in Yemen?

A bit more than being ‘no saints’.

it would be the most spursiest thing in history if we win the league this season but are disqualified due to sale of Sanchez to Russia 😂

Can’t believe this goes anywhere. Not sure Russia is the destination of choice for any players right now
Question is... should we even be dealing with them in the first place ? ... should it even be possible with the UEFA bans to Russian teams ?... I would be surprised if Sanchez wants the move.

But as a nation we aren't supplying Yemen with weapons and placing sanctions on the Saudi's as far as I know.

I understand the point you are making that both regimes are awful ones that we shouldn't be dealing with, but I don't think they are quite the same.
