Again I’ve said it before but he’s probably the better one out of our Centre back options unfortunately he just looks awful when he’s paired with dier he needs a Toby or a Jan next to him.

He’s still young another 3 years of learning before he gets to near a Centre backs peak, Ledley wasn’t always great if you remember.....

Sanchez has some attributes that our other defenders don’t have ( speed and athleticism) and to his credit he didn’t put a foot wrong today.

However, some are talking like he’s a world class CB who just happens to be having a bad season or a rookie ( when he’s actually played almost 100 PL games).

And please don’t mention him and Ledley King in the same sentence.

I can respect all of that, and I do hope you don't think I'm arguing with you for the sake of it.

I see a guy who is unable to read the game, unable to track the flight of a ball & is capable of 'shutting off' at the worst possible moment, while you still hold out hope that with the right addition(s) could replicate that first season form. Again, I'll happily be wrong if it means we'll benefit in the long term.

We simply have a differing opinion on this particular matter/player which, at the end of the day, is what this place is all about.

I thought I was good enough at making myself look like a clueless **** but, fair play to Sanchez, he was literally outstanding & it's criminal that he wasn't given MOTM.

And this week I'll be switching to writing off Dele, Dier, Doherty, Winks, Lloris & Davies.

Don't worry lads & ladesses, I'll fix this fucking squad.

His pace and ability to recover are more useful in high block. Also midfielders and wingers being closer makes it easier to make a simple pass. Disappointing because he never improved since first season and probably regressed even but he can be useful.

I thought his timing in the air was very good, he made a lot of good headed clearances and some decent blocks on the the ground. Good game all round.

I think he plays better with a more experienced partner. He did well today

Our problem is that all of our CBs are in that catagory (and I include Toby to some extent). We're missing Vertonghen badly at the moment and need to recruit a leader and organizer at CB, preferably a lefty.

Although Burnley's forward line was pretty crap, he did do well. But we've been here before, many, many times. The question is whether he can maintain any kind of consistency?
He needs a consistent pairing to be consistent. Barring any injuries I would have him and Toby as 1st choice CBs for the rest of the season. Then in the summer our scouts need to do the job and bring in a Toby replacement that will work with him.

I know this is subjective and can't be measured, but yesterday he had that "look" of class about him that I haven't seen in our other options yet this season.

TBF to him I think he did ok at Man City, he just got mugged off for the 3rd goal and was made to look a bit foolish but that has happened to plenty of defenders when left 1 on 1.

I've put a cross on him but I'm really impresed with him in last two games. To be honest I would give him MOTM today. Beside that one situation with VAR he made no mistakes.
