Rumous from Italy this morning that our most recent bid of 50 mill euros has been rejected. They want 60. Hopefully bollocks. Not sure on source....

Not the best source but I have to be honest, this one feels like it could go either way to me.

Last week they were demanding 55M - wouldn't place too much stock in this unless Di Marzio or someone like that backs it up.

Here's what the article actually says:

Percassi values his defender at around €60m and the feeling is strong that a deal will be done, perhaps at a lower figure.

Last week when we supposedly offered 40mEur, the Italian press said they wanted 50, now this week we've offered that and they want 60? Don't see it myself

So yet another aggregator twisting it? Shock.

"Wait, it isn't done instantly. Hmm... must make up a reason for it dawdling along rather than the 'Amazon Prime' experience.

They must want more money. Need clicks though. Probably Daniel Levy offering something paltry or moving the goalposts.

Spurs are crap so the player probably doesn't want to join. That's plausible."

etc.

There's an industry that survives on the indulgence of impatience, and much like a starving stomach, they know that people will gobble up even tenuous information. It's one of the poisons of the 'new age' of journalism.

It's now become not enough to just add the original tweeter. Need the article linked. Used to like a few of these accounts, but now I am seeing them become worse and worse. Constantly twisting and taking out of context.

Please understand he is owned by Juve! Atalanta have him on loan, want to flip it by signing him and selling unto us straight away. Tax issues etc to be ironed out. Nonissue…?

Thanks Herc

You would have thought there would be tax-lawyers/accountants that can be called in fairly swiftly to iron out the details.

So as you say, non-issues.
