It’s so weird to have a player of his skill and physically ability playing as an out and out winger. Surely someone should have coached him into playing off the right cutting onto his left to act as a playmakerHe works really hard and he can do some good things but I just fear he’s too lightweight and doesn’t have that explosive burst to make up for his lack of physicality.
Without that burst he just can’t cleanly get away from players and beyond them and it restricts his effectiveness in wide areas.
I thought the opposite. Lacked any form of final product, isn’t quick enough and just average on the ball.He was very good today.
He literally stuck one on a plate for SonI thought the opposite. Lacked any form of final product, isn’t quick enough and just average on the ball.
I though he had a better game than Johnson who for me had a poor game and for a pacey winger never beat his man. Gill is not a winger, is not pacey. His trickery and guile is better deployed at left of centre as he did in Spain. For me the problem is playing Son as our central attacker and then trying to make everything fit around him.Exciting to watch but lacks something when it comes to that killer pass or cross. Not sure he will ever be much more than we see now. Doesn't have the end product to be much better.
1 out of how many? I watched him bombed countless others. But if that’s the level you are wanting us to be at then so be it. There’s a reason our squad got to where it was because we kept on with players not good enough and not suited to the league. He literally stuck one on a plate for Son
That ball in to Sonny was sublime. Another day that‘s in the back of the net and we are rhapsodizing over it.He literally stuck one on a plate for Son
This is it for me. He looks a tidy player, he just wasn’t on the same wavelength as Sonny and Udogie. Give him time and it’ll come.I thought he was bright and lively. Give him a run of games to build up chemistry with Udogie and Son and he'll improve further.
I am not so sure I think with Solomons pace and shooting ability he would very likely have made a lot more from the Kulu flick.Looking at the long term picture we're likely to be in european competition next season and there will be many more games for him to be involved in. Perisic is likely to be gone by the seasons end, and we don't know if Richarlison will stay long term or look to move on (be moved on). The performance from Gil yesterday was about as good as Solomon give or take so i dont see an issue with him continuing his development and creating competition for the back up options.
Put in the far corner, that what he always tries to do.I am not so sure I think with Solomons pace and shooting ability he would very likely have made a lot more from the Kulu flick.
Except the one he put on a plate for Sonny, who pulled his head out the wayHe was good at collecting the ball on the halfway line, and even advancing play, but his crossing and final ball were poor.
Supposedly VAR was experiencing technical issues when it happened so they missed it...Just seen the elbow incident, wtf are these plebs in var watching, not only should it be a pen but if that's Romero he gets his marching orders every day of the week for that, incredible.
