Yea he’s no where near ready. One for the future.Wouldn’t be surprised if he goes on loan in January.
I’m not sure how easy it is to judge that. When he has played with the other “B Team” guys in the conference league games he has been hit and miss but he probably had more bright spots than any of the others and at times looked really exciting.Yea he’s no where near ready. One for the future.
Yea all true points mate I just think there is still a way to go in terms of his decision making and physicality and just top level football. For Sevilla he played 20,30 mins here and there. He needs regular full 90 min games imo.I’m not sure how easy it is to judge that. It’s helped others from those nightmare games when they’ve actually played with the first team. I’m sure if Gil was surrounded by better players he’d look much better.
Twitter gets loads of stuff right, eg was well ahead of MSM on Covid re Pool and HammersThat guy on Twitter (I know) George bannister , who knew all about our covid situation ect has said that Gil is still suffering and is being carefully monitored
We're out of the ECL. We have a maximum 3 more games in the league cup, 23 more league games and whatever we do in the FA Cup.
I don't see Gil playing any real role this season so a half season loan might be the right move for him.

Really depends on the loan, he’s been another one that’s had unlucky injuries, as well as Covid. But you’d have to imagine that he has Son, Lucas, Bergwijn, and possibly Dele ahead of him in the pecking order. It would take a minor injury crisis for him to get regular minutes, or for Dele and Bergwijn to move on and not be replaced. We're out of the ECL. Fair points. I only said he might be better off going on loan. It’s always a fine line between having to many players and to few. And with Covid situation things can change rapidly. Tough call what I think is best tbh, maybe getting more settled in London might the better thing really not sure.
I actually think the opposite.Just decided he reminds me in many ways of Aaron Lennon. Exciting to watch but so far not much in the way of end product. Hopefully that will come with games and coaching.
Completely. And, for me, I think as much as he needs game time, he'd be better off under contes coaching for rest of the season. Get him working out the patterns of attack he can best use his talent in, esp as suspect its not going to be the classic left wing play he used in Spain. Maybe optimistic, but I feel his ultimate level is pretty high. So I'd keep him here for emrest of season. Then next season if he's ready, great, use him and rest / move son (or inverted RF or even ACM), or, more likely, go a good prem loan eg Palace, Leeds, maybe Brentford (who I grew up near and still can't believe they are in prem, let alone looking like having a chance to stay up! But I digress...)I actually think the opposite.
I think Gil has shown a very good footballing brain and there were early signs of him linking well with Kane. Lennon was a speed demon and tore full backs to shreds but never developed a consistent end product.
He hasn't even laid a glove on, even early, Lennons output.Just decided he reminds me in many ways of Aaron Lennon. Exciting to watch but so far not much in the way of end product. Hopefully that will come with games and coaching.
