He's looking much more comfortable on the right hand side now and needs to keep starting there for the next few games. The big positive for me is that he understands the movement side of things already and that is leading to chances & assists, just a bit of patience needed to turn chances into goals.

Just watching the Review Show from yesterday , Brennan was on it alongside Sonny , I didn't realise that he is quite tall at just under 6ft 1in, mind you from my lofty position on level 5 most players look quite small.

I don’t know what’s a matter with some of you lot. The lad looks like an excellent signing who is contributing week in and week out.

Goals will come

Agreed. Some of the stuff I read on here leaves me completely bemused.

Yet another goal involvement and some people are still moaning about him.
I don’t think this is fair. Not moaning. Simply pointing out that there are clear areas of improvement.

He goes missing for extended periods of time. He’s profligate. His final ball needs to improve. As does his stamina.

If you actually see what people are writing, no one is writing him off, and they are definitely noting what he’s adding.

It’s been a good start. It’s fair to recognise that. But it’s also fair to recognise that there are big areas for improvement.

It’s only to be expected given he’s young, at a new club, slightly struggling for fitness and in a team that’s a bit stop start.

Ultimately, we could come on here and say everything’s great etc etc, but that wouldn’t be 100% right.

Udogie has had a sensational start. But he made a silly mistake vs Chelsea. It was pointed out, but context was understood.

Same goes for Johnson. Everyone is rooting for him, and can see there could be a player there, but there’s also plenty of room for improvement. That’s absolutely fine. But it’s also OK to point out.

He's been great and anyone saying otherwise is asking for a ludicrous amount from a young player who has been forced to step-up as a regular starter far earlier than Ange had planned.

He makes mistakes but he also creates chances on a regular basis.

He's exactly the sort of player that Conte and Mourinho would have hated and why it's great that Ange is giving him the spotlight.

I'm excited by him, been really bright in patches as he finds his way into the team. As he grows in confidence in the team I think he'll be brilliant.

He had a goal disallowed (on maybe his debut?), but his finish was composed and even cute. I rate him, and think he’s gonna be good.

It's clear our recruitment has been a lot better not just in terms of quality but the individual themselves. We've signed some real top professionals and top people of late. Reminds me of the team/family we built under Poch.

Ange has spoken previously about how signing the human is as important, if not more so, than the football player.
