Really liked his combination play and pace, to get involved in moves and in behind. Should start next match instead of Richy.

I thought he looked very direct which is exactly what we needed at that stage of the match.

Looks the tits

That first time header was pure awareness of his teammates, easily could've lashed the return, proper team player, provided the assist. Looks like more outstanding recruitment
When he originally headed that great cross field pass from Sarr I thought he’d fucked it, and was wondering why he didn’t trap it and pass with his feet, but it was absolutely the right thing to do. He kept the ball moving and it caused havoc in the Palace defence which Maddison was able to exploit, then to get into position and put such a good ball over to Sonny for the goal was excellent. Fantastic bit of play from him.

Could be a very useful option as he can play across all the front 3 positions.

he’s very direct which is what we need to see more of from kulu. He’s looking short on confidence in the final third.
His work rate is there for all to see but we need more big moments from him .

sooner or later we ain’t going to get a magic moment from Maddison or a son goal .

someone else needs to step up

Udogie and Johnson on the left will be a nightmare for Chelsea. Unpredictable players in an unpredictable system 😈

reminds me of peak Dele Alli. Don't get much better than that
He's got the pace that Dele lacked though, which is a big bonus.
Looking good though and more than just a bit of a pace merchant, which is what I was worried he was. Got a bit of awareness and intelligence about him too.

This is so true. So many wide forward players would have not assessed the positional AND time elements and would have controlled the ball, and in so doing allowed additional numbers to arrive.

His purposeful overlap after the headed pass was impressive and very Phil Foden like.

I would start him against Chelsea over Richy. I think his pace could be really important against them.

Against Arsenal and Brentford they pushed their entire defence very high and in both games were caught numerous times on the counter from their own attack breaking down. Richarlison doesn’t have the pace or the natural movement to get in behind defences but Johnson does.

Combine that movement with Son’s natural ability to get beyond the last man and Maddison’s ability to pick a pass, and it will prove difficult for Chelsea to deal with us.

He looked so good before being sacrificed when we went down to 10. James didn't have a clue what to do with him, he had him on absolute toast and he's a very good player. He would have been delighted to see him go off. Having a front three of Johnson, Son & Kulusevski is what gives me some hope for Saturday, they could rip Wolves apart. I'm going to the game Saturday and the defence seriously concerns me, it really is going to be a case of we just need to go all out attack. Back to Johnson, I said when we signed him that I felt he would be a very clever addition and I think we have potentially signed a gem.

The man was cooking Reece James. That ball he played to Sonny with his weaker, left foot was quality. Didn't realize he had that in his locker. Only 22 years old........what a signing!

He's pretty two footed, not Sonny levels, but his left is strong.
