Negotiations with Spurs are currently at an impasse because of Forest’s valuation of Johnson at £50million.

Daniel Levy, Tottenham’s chairman, is reluctant to pay so much and, with Brentford backing off from their long-term pursuit of Johnson, that means a financial compromise will have to be found for a deal to happen.

However, Sangare’s potential availability has been known to a number of Europe’s top clubs and Forest have always realised he was an ambitious target who may have aspirations of joining a higher-ranking team.

As talks continue, however, it may all become hypothetical anyway unless a deal for Johnson happens.

Evangelos Marinakis, the Forest owner, has taken charge of the process, along with his son, Miltiadis, and is willing to sell Johnson as long as he thinks the money is right. If not, Forest are prepared to keep the Wales international and that would make a possible transfer for Sangare extremely difficult for a club that wants to remain on the right side of the financial fair-play rules.

I don’t like the sound of that last paragraph at all.

history tells us how it will end

Yep. The silence on progress with this now is concerning. It was always said it would drag on until then end of the window. But nothing sounds remotely close with this. So much so I wouldn’t be surprised if we hear that it’s gone tits up.

Not a chance we hear it’s gone tits up until there’s ‘no time to find alternatives’

Seems very quiet considering the amount of Money we will have to pay and the time we have left for our priority target.
To be Fair we have actually had a reasonable transfer window compared to others. But not when you lose your best player and is earmarked as the big re-build. Unless we have the ultimate last day we will be 3 players short for the start of season

This isn’t getting done.

Far apart on the fee and expected to go to the last hours of the window.
Why?
For what purpose?
To win a game of negotiations.

This will fall through and we’ll be left scratching our arse.

LOL right after I mention that, Brentford swoops in for him.

I know it was only Lyall and a few others but from our list of Johnson, Fati, Bakayoko it really seems like it's Johnson or N'oone now hahaha ffs

If we want to take one small win from this window it's that our data is leading us to similar players as Brighton or Brentford.... now maybe in future windows if we can convince them to come to us rather than those clubs, that'd be great 🤣

Levy knows Forest now need to sell given their transfers last few days and trying to squeeze them now, I'd swear we've been here before ....
