Not sure about this guy’s character. If it’s true he did his medical, did the media photos etc. it doesn’t sit well that he would pull a Willian. Especially as it is just a 6 month loan with no option/obligation to buy at the end.
Hopefully there is more to it than we have been led to believe.
Well the whispers are that he'd been speaking to Lampard, and he'd convinced him to come and how he planned to use him etc, and then he was sacked. He didn't want to go to a club fighting relegation when he didn't even know if he was going to play. Which I guess is fair enough if it's only a 6 month loan.

It's more concerning from our side of the fence than his imo.

People saying this loan has no planning, #levy special etc.. the club didn't plan for Moura's long term injury, the club didn't plan for Son's complete loss of form, January has always been a window where clubs are reactive to situation/injury, looks very much like it's reactive because we need to be exactly that.

Quick, skilful, can score with both feet, strong runner.

All for 2.5m loan. I would say that’s a fairly good deal, and he gives us a good option from the bench which we have been sorely lacking recently.

I would be ok if we went for Danjuma as the cheaper option if we also went for a CB as well.

Porro, Danjuma and a CB would be a good Jan window.

Maddest thing for me is we have completely re-structured our scouting/recruitment department in the last year making several highly thought of additions in key roles and yet most of our interest/business is so opportunistic

It’s like spending years designing and building your dream house but not putting in a front door to actually get inside. Infuriating

I guess we have no idea if Conte wants him.

My prediction is that if our form continues to spiral, we'll soon hear from Conte if he wasn't. Another guess is he's another 'compromise' due to the tricky situation the club and Conte are in.

As for Paratici, he also wanted Gattuso and brought us Santo. His ability to shift on players is questionable and although he's brought in some unquestionable quality in Romero, Kulu and Bents, he's also bought in those that haven't cut the mustard.

He's also bent and unlikely to be here beyond the summer.
I agree we have no idea. I hope he was. There’s a good bet he wasn’t very high on the list tho as we were very clearly content for him to go to Everton until his agent called us last minute. Much like our lowball offer for Trossard and our loan for Lenglet when we couldn’t get who we wanted for CD.

With Paratici, I agree with choices of manager but as far as players I disagree with your assessment tbh. Really the only player he’s bought that failed hard so far is Bissouma. There is a very strong argument to say Royal would have been a good signing for a defensive back 4 it’s just Conte’s tactics that he doesn’t suit at all. Gil and Sarr are 21 and 20 and are very much ones for the future but thus far they look like talents and nobody should be writing off players that young. Beyond that he’s also wanted us to get players like Kim and Kvara who are now at Napoli and tearing it up. I also agree that he has always struggled to shift players even at juve but that doesn’t affect how he judges players. I’m also not sure why him going in the summer should affect his scouting ability.

I have no dislike for Danjuma, he’s a solid player who I think some are over exaggerating his ability and others are being overly critical. He’s a good dribbler who’s fast and can play LW and CF. He can be excellent when he’s on his game but he can also hold on to the ball to long and run down blind allies.

Really I’d have been happy to get him if he was who we had wanted from before the window. But the fact we signed him how we have suggests to me that he is a complete last minute desperation stop gap. It will be very interesting to see how he does and if Conte puts him above Gil in the pecking order. I still hope we can get Zaniolo for Conte as they are different players who play in different positions, Danjuma for example is not going to help us play 352 where as Zaniolo could.

And just for the record, I want him to do well and I hope can re find his form from last season.

Just thinking out loud, but I wonder if the news yesterday of Inter being open to letting Skriniar go this month has driven this. Maybe the option was Zaniolo and Porro, or we could pivot and go Danjuma, Porro and make a proper play for Skriniar with the Zaniolo money. It’s clear Roma won’t let us loan Zaniolo without an iron clad obligation in place.

As said in other threads, Skriniar is PSG bound or at least apparently a top target for them.

Need every mention of his name today to be all diverted to Skriniar thread. He’s rumoured to have agreed sensational terms with PSG, Inter trying to sell him now is because they know this and want to get something from PSG or anyone. I doubt other teams turn his head and if they do, it’d take unrealistic incredible amounts of money. Won’t stop social media using it as a stick to beat the club with though.
Anyway, back to Danjuma….
