Isn’t it highly likely that Chelsea still owe some of Lukaku’s huge fee to Inter? So inter could sign Lukaku by writing off the remaining debt - no or minimal actual outlay for them (if Chelsea take a loss). No swap deal needed.
I think I saw something about Chelsea still owe 71m on that deal.

If we arent going to get Dybala - and seeing as we do need another forward - who will we get? Not seen many links apart from the Perisic and Bastoni which I suspect were priorities.

Surely Inter will want the money from Chelsea for Lukaku rather than take him back? If I was inter I’d be laughing and thanking Chelsea for such a huge fee.
Wouldn’t then help Chelsea by writing off the transfer fee.

I still have, probably misguided, hope that we will get Dybala. He would fit in perfectly with our business thus far and allow us to get a midfielder of the same calibre and price of Bastoni.

But if not, no idea. Jesus I think is Arsenal bound and I’m not a big fan, Richarlerson and Cornet aren’t good enough imo. Maybe we will go for Nunez, although I think Utd really want him. Nkunku I don’t see moving this window and Dembele will probably go to Chelsea as they seem most keen.

I think for me I’d love to see De Ketelaere or Osimhen targeted. Osimhen is going to cost a ton, but if we can be savvy with free transfers/expiring contracts in other positions of need, we could make 3 top-class signings for CB, CM, Forward.

Trix and Herc alluding to another player we are working on last night. Dybala to Inter looking possibly financially unlikely. Reports that he’s still undecided. I don’t know, I think it’s tenable that we are still trying on this one as we speak

I like Osimhen but he seems injury prone and would cost an arm and a leg. I do think another wide forward perhaps with pace to offset Kane and Kulusevski would be good. Bergwijn will most likely leave. Lucas may well stay I think just as a utility man to throw on and conjur something.

I dont know if Dybala is that guy. Id love a Schick but think he signed a new contract.

If we could the get following on free transfers:
  • Forster
  • Perisic
  • Eriksen
  • Dybala
The add Spence and Bastoni for c£70m, we then have c£80m (unless we are using the ENIC investment for signing off fees for the free transfers) and any outgoings to further strenghten the squad either out and out striker, midfielders and/or gaps to cover based on outgoings.

Or keep some cash for later in the year

Don't forget the cost of Reguilon, Romero and Kulusevski (I'm sure we take the cheaper deal this window.) I think what the 150m investment does more than anything is allow us to move early this window and not wait to sell first.

But then that's still a cash strapped team writing off 71m of cash owed to them that they desperately need. Given they already need to raise 60m the last thing they would want to do is give up the 71m Chelsea owe in what was already a excellent deal for Inter.

If they do that then maybe they need to raise 131m (or whatever share of the Lukaku money Chelsea were due Toby pay) by the end of the summer?

If we don't pay them any salaries or signing on fees.

Do they need instant capital? That's not the way I understood it. I thought they just needed to put numbers on the balance sheet.
This summer your right they need the balance sheet to be green, but last summer they were in deep trouble. Not anything to do with Inter direct but Suning Group were in serious trouble, they posted loses of something like 250 mil if I remember correctly, there was even talk at one point of Inter being given over to the banks but it was never really going to get to that. Anyway, it certainly seemed they needed capital fast last summer so I’m surprised the structuring of the Lukaku deal. This summer as you say things are more chilled, although as mentioned they still need to reduce their wage by 15% and be 60 mil up.

This guy is considered pretty clued up when it comes to Inter news and is followed by Roman. Seems Lukaku to Inter is a possibility which would mean no Dybala. Roma are also trying for Dybala but he wouldn’t have CL if he went there.

Confirmed: the lawyer representing #Lukaku will be in Milan tomorrow to meet the management of #Inter .

Lukaku supposedly left his agent after being given bad career advice so is having his lawyer negotiate his transfer.

One way to soften the blow for Inter selling a player or two.

Fucking lawyers. Saving the day with their brilliance. And their handsomeness.
