Hi all,

i promised my son that when he was 7 that I would take him to a match, unfortunately due to the struggle to get tickets in the new stadium (we are not members) and the pandemic he will be 10 soon and still hasn’t been. I looked in the ticket exchange recently and prices were very high and you can’t seem to buy child tickets so all are at adult prices, therefore I think the only real chance to take him his to get membership for us both. If we are members can anyone confirm that assuming we buy tickets on the first day of release that we will definitely get tickets (cat b or cat c match)? Also is there any value in having the plus membership where the sale window opens 24hrs earlier? Can you also confirm that we would both need membership?
Thanks for the help.

You should have no issues getting a ticket - You may need to queue for a little bit.

I have always paid the fiver extra for the 24hr advance in sales too and yes, you'll both need a membership.

I think I am right in saying that on the exchange, you can only buy and pay for like for like tickets ie, if it's an adult seat that's available, you have to pay adult price but if a child seat is available, you can pay child price for that or upgrade it to an adult seat.

Just crashing your thread for a similar question : if two people have OH memberships, how easy is it to get 2 seats next to each other ?

Very easy, barring maybe the biggest games of the season, never had to book away from someone else

To be honest you could easily get a child ticket for the cup games and judging by the man city Ticket sales there's a good chance the ground won't sell out all the time this season during the initial sale for Premier league games

Think it needs pointing out, there is no "guarantee" of getting tickets just because you have membership.
I've had a couple of experiences in the last few years (even at new stadium) of getting online at the on-sale time, but finding the game sold out by the time I actually got in.

As pointed out above, I don't think you will see that as much this year, unless we miraculously get into, and remain in, the top 4 for an extended period and things start really looking up. There were still tickets for the opening game on sale the day before at the weekend, for example, which indicates how interest has waned over the summer. For now.

Yep.

All one of them needs to do is add the other to their circle/friends list (I can't remember what they call it on there) and they'll be able to buy two tickets and allocate them seperately.

Does he need two memberships? When it goes to general sale can you automatically buy a guest ticket? Or is that a further release down the rung?

Would one membership with the other person added to their network work?

I live in the Northern Territory, Australia. Two years ago I travelled home specifically to go to the new stadium. Clearly, I wasn’t prepared to travel without tickets so my little girl and I became members. We had absolutely no trouble buying tickets for a lower category game; came; enjoyed; and still live on those fantastic memories.

The additional 24 hour period always used to be just in respect of 1000 tickets, not sure if that is the case?

I raise it because you sometimes actually got more choice in the normal booking window as appose to the advance window, especially if you were looking for 2 together. If it's still the case that it is limited to 1000 tickets, you will probably be better off buying a pint with the fiver (unless you want to go on the ST waiting list).

Pretty Easy. Game dependant, but should always be fine if you're on first thing in the morning when a certain game goes on sale.... if it sells out, then that's when Season Ticket holders can list theirs.. so you get a 2nd bite of the cherry if you sleep in!!

Hope this helps a few..

"In the event of a Guest Sale, it is usually possible to purchase an additional three tickets, though this may change from fixture to fixture. In the event of a General Sale, it is usually possible to purchase up to six tickets, though again this may change dependent on the fixture."

My exp over past 5 years taking son via OT+
- (pre covid) we went to most games. Probably missed about 4/5 a season.
- aim to be online about 9a when they release tix. Gets place in queue. Though site got a big upgrade this year so looks like might be less of a pain (the doughnut loader was a thing of hate for me...)
- had to pay adult prices a few times (ok, I didn't HAVE to... But we got kinda sucked in)
- if you miss the main window, check back the day before or day of the game. We got a few that way via ticket exchange (only opens once guest sale is done I believe). So if you see it go to guest sale, keep going back in am/late eve

Had a couple mates have issues with kids at city match with new identity check. Personally I'd get 2 memberships and the Id card (it's easy, upload photo, pickup photo card) and they usually get enough free merch (backpack/bootbag/speaker/etc) it's sort of justify able. Though I also think the beers / food / now having season tix for me / my 10yo is justifiable.. Your mileage may vary..

Just on this....my eldest wants to start going (aged 9). Sorted his membership. I have one.

Stupid question, but how do you see the kids tickets? Having just sorted his membership I'm looking for tickets and can find 2 seats together at a couple of the upcoming games, but they're both adult seats at adult prices. I added them to the basket thinking once I assign the ticket to him as he's in my network it would adjust the price. But that's not the case.

So my question is, how do you find a child ticket?

The Northwest of the stadium has the family area/concessions. Try looking at these sort of block numbers in the north stand 109, 110, 416, 417, 510, 511 and 512. Definitely 416 & 417 as I have got tickets in there before for kids at kids prices.

Caveat, think the new booking ui may have changed this..

My experience is basically, you can't. No way to filter.
For a bit I logged in on my sons account t and then it only showed me junior seats. So might be worth a go?
Otherwise, just get fast at clicking! I tended to click anywhere I saw a lot of seats, and then just look for the junior ticket first. They do come up so bear in there.
Other piece was if its a big game, ticket exchange is pretty good even verg last minute. Someone shit, they only open it once its sold out. So get in there early!

So…. I’m wanting to be able to watch games with my 6 year old. I’ve tried buying an adult and junior together. And computer is saying I’m too old to get the junior? My 6 year old doesn’t yet have a bank account or email address lol. Will the junior have to go on a separate email address and login in on the official site? Seems complicated. (I’m not great with apps and tech anyway lol) thanks

All the Confrence games have been general sale and £25. I’d keep an eye on Rennes game it might still go to general sale.

Yes, the junior will need his/her own membership number which will require a separate log in and paid membership
