yep enjoyed reading that - how it must hurt true Chelsea fans to see how their support has deeroiorated - I remember spurs chelsea games in the 70s when the atmosphere was nuclear let alone electric

as Hunter Davies said in the glory game for the 72 semi final - people were literally shaking with excitement - and the noise and passion was coming from both sides - it was so intense I'll never forget it (well while my brain's still working ok :)

even in 82 when the passion had become topped up with too much hatred (probably on both sides) the intensity was still there from both sides when we won 3-2 at the Bridge

good points BOF too about the 84 final and preceding ones

And that is why they lost.
They believed that all they had to do was turn up and collect the trophy. No matter how badly they played they would win.

Well it doesn't always work like that does it "JT"?

I was thinking that the other day? Spammers and chavs both see us as their main rivals but we only see them as small clubs that sometimes play in our division! Strange isn't it?

The only reason we even acknowledge the chavs is because we have had such a poor record against them in recent years and because they hate us!

We only have 1 rival! The scum, and they feel the same!

the rivals thing does make me laugh..

as of a few years ago I could have sworn we were avid arsenal haters and vice versa...

now we remain avid arsenal haters, but west ham claim to be our arch rivals and supposedly have been for years past and go absolutely mental for their cup final match (i.e league game vs us).... now chelsea as well? I know there is some crap about out of the stadium violence between spurs and chelsea, though personally I try to ignore that. Nothing to do with football.

Who else is our 'number 1 arch rival'?

As for that knob Terry saying that they should beat us on a bad day! He's right when he says that they have alot of talent, but he isn't one of those talented players.

Would "jt" even get a start at spurs? He would be warming the bench hoping that Leds or woody got injured.

I wonder if they will have another "bad day" at the lane in a couple of weeks?

Mugs!

they only just realised that the majority of their "fans" are just glory hunters who really dare give a shit

It just shows who is number one in London, when Arsenal, Chelsea, and West Ham all have us as their main rivals.

It started with the Arsenal back to when they came to live in North London, West Ham fans and Spurs fans were mates upto the mid 70s, Chelsea started off with that big fight at the Lane at the end of the 70s. ( I have some of it on an old cine film).

It has got to the stage where we now all hate West Ham, and Chelsea, but nothing like we hate Arsenal, for with them it does go far back into history.

QPR, and Fulham both hate Chelsea, Brentford loves every one :), well except QPR.

On an only slightly related note, I went to the Spurs@125 DVD premiere at the 02, and the Opus was in show in the foyer, before everyone went in.

The compere for the night (bloke who does the half-time stuff at the Lane; can never remember his name), when introducing the film, talked a little bit about the opus and said that a certain West London club - you know, the one we beat convincingly on Sunday - applied to get an Opus done for this year, but were turned down by the company that does them because there wasn't enough to fill one.

As you can imagine, this made me immensely happy, but does anyone know if there's any truth in this? Or is it a vicious but highly amusing rumour?

I've been happy since Sunday and this just made me even happier! I was at Wembley on sunday with my brother and when we walked out of wembley park station it sounded as if we was out side the lane! The chelsea fans didn't sing anything showed absolutely no support. I won't pretend that I don't want more success for spurs cos I do, but I would never want us to become a club who have tons of plastic business class fans like chelsea and ars*nal have. I'm proud to say we're still a proper club with good support.
