The good old days when our keeper had to fight off pitch invaders

I once saw John White score from a corner, curled straight into the goal with nobody touching it. I was with my Dad and I was standing right down by the corner flag at the East Stand and Park Lane end, close enough that I heard him grunt as his boot connected with the ball. Where did skills like that go?

Of course now it would be reviewed by VAR and probably disallowed.

It takes great players to do things like that. He was one. He died nearly 60 years ago. I am still upset about it.
