FWIW I wonder if people would have said the same thing about Bellingham, just before he made the step up to the Bundesliga from the championship.

Sometimes you just need to throw these guys in at the deep end. If they have the ability (which is clear Madueke has), then they will more than likely hit it off.

Why won't he, his competition is Moura.

Cause of the last few years we cant buy attackers that are ready-made for our team, they would cost 60m. I bet if Leicester ends up singing him people will moan that we didn't go for him. Do Souramare and Daka start straight away for Leicester?

80% of players that come out of Holland are not good enough in the prem. Especially for where we are trying to compete.

Bergwijn and Depay were ripping it up and posting much better stats for a longer period than this lad and i wouldn't want either of them ideally.

I am not saying he won't be great but lets be honest its another punt.

For every Bellingham, you also have a Fabio Silva or Joao Felix...also am sure these examples are present in every league.
If its Madueke in isolation as a player with potential we want to buy - like Gil or Sarr, I am with you
But if the question is him vs someone like Traore...its hard to make a case for Madueke...especially, with Nuno having worked with Traore for 3 years

Guys we can't afford to buy ready-made stars. As none of the top players are interested in joining us right now.

We're a conference league side and need to be creative with our signings.

Madueke is only 19, English, and has a lot of potential that even Dortmund wanted to sign him. He'll more than hold his value with us.

Precisely. We have to take gambles on rough diamonds in the hope we can make them shine.

Every transfer is a risk. Traore reminds me of sissoko incredible athlete but with one of the worse techniques for a top flight footballer.

Id always much rather take the risk on the likes of Madueke and fail then traore and sissoko who we know will never be anything special. Also premier league experience is really over rated.

Sorry for my possible ignorance, but was this guy an ex spurs player?

i have followed spurs from Australia closely since early 90s, but have to admit I never heard of him.

What happened and would he come back?

Also, are there any real links to him from us?

Apologies for all the questions. I prob should just read the whole thread...lol

Yes. He didn’t sign a new contract a few years ago and left to go someplace where he would get in games.

He was part of the youth academy and joined around the age of 14 yrs old, he moved up the youth levels and was highly rated through them and was held in high regard from the club and staff. He left at 17 for free wouldnt sign a pro contract as he thought i chances were limited / progression path was to hampered. He left at 17 for free and signed for PSV.

He is still raw, first touch and control need polishing, but he can strike the ball, good shot on him and finishing. Great pace, good positioning, dribbling is an asset although closer ball control when running i would suggest needs some work but he is still learning his trade and has the potential to improve and do well.

Much appreciated.

I gave you a "friendly" as there was no "thanks"

I think these two games against Benfica were quite telling. For his development he is better off staying at PSV and tearing up that league. He's a few years away from being prem ready imo.

It's a fine line you have to take and always a risk. Yes, it would probably be best for him to develop at PSV, but if you wait for him to become "PL Ready," than there is a decent chance we could be priced out.

So, what do he think he is worth now, as in what do you think we should pay if interested?

Also, do you think we are interested, and would he come back?

Just in your opinion. Thanks

He is certainly not worth the 30M euros banded about if im honest, not yet anyway 20M euros maybe, but its potential your paying for and banking on him having a decent ceiling. The club have always kept tabs on him becuase he was highly thought of , even though he left at a young age im sure they knew his development especially at a decent club like PSV who are known for good youth academies and nurturing young talent would be good him.

Personally i dont think he would come back right now, he left to play and it wasnt all about the money, it was to learn and ply his trade plating week in week out and improve that way as well and learn from actual game time. If he came back now would he get a lot of game time probably not and there's a few in the pecking order above him, for that reason i dont think he would come back unless he has some sort of guarantee, but i doubt he would get that atm .... He is still a tad raw as i mentioned before some maybe its still better for him to stay at PSV and develop further

I think one thing that may amp up his value to us this summer is that he seemingly counts as home grown and club trained if we buy and keep him this year.

Top tip.
There's a Spurs Youth thread in the Spurs chat forum and it's a great place to keep up to date with the academy.
A new one has been started for this season but it's worth having a quick look through last year's thread too. Some very knowledgeable youth-watchers post there to keep us informed.

Worth clicking the 'watch' button for that one. ?
