I don't think we should be spending any funds on that kind of player as we need the money and we need players who are further advanced.

Gil and Scarlett are our project players. Any new attackers need to be more proven/further developed. Too many and we won't get close to top 4.

Yep. The attraction for signing Madueke, specifically, would be to bring back "the one who got away". But that is only a thing if he is better than the other options out there.

And, right now, he just isn't.

Not you specifically, but do you believe this from his performance tonight or in general?

I think he needs a couple more years at PSV. Hopefully he'll have fond memories of Spurs despite leaving for first team football. I don't know if he was a fan to begin with?

Should be our main target instead of Traore. 19 years old and already has much better game intelligence and end product.

Plus he is left footed and we need a left footer comfortable from the right.

How many games have you seen him play to come to those conclusions?

If you're not going to elaborate then there's a disagree button you can use instead.

I don't think he's all that at the moment, and for 40 mil he definately ain't worth it imo. I'd go as far as to say he's worse than every winger we have right now, bar Gil, who I have no idea about. He might become amazing in the future, but for 40 million today, I think Traore is a far better bet.

Yeah well that's the decision isn't it, Traore is the better player at the moment but he's 25, Madueke is 19 and the level of improvement we've seen over the last 12 months makes it look like he has a vast ceiling and he's showing he has the ability to put the ball in the net and we need another player who can do that and it looks like he will improve. 40 Million is too steep, I also think that's way too steep for Traore considering what the squad needs at the moment, I question whether spending 40 mill on Traore and not sorting the other area's is the right play.

Personally if we're determined to sign a winger then I'd go for the guy who looks like he could long term turn into a world class player but if we've decided that we want a player for this season specifically and we're going to play a certain style then I can see why choosing Traore is the way to go. I'm hoping that Madueke transfer fee has come crashing down after tonight and it's a goer though.

tonight and its the only time I have seen him play he looked like exactly what he is a young kid who has just broke into the first team albeit in a lower European League - he has a bit of talent but is a long long way from the finished article - he might go on to be a world beater but on today's showing he is miles away from being a regular starter in top 10 premier side and he doesn't come anywhere near a player like Traore.

To talk about the money PSV might want it would be madness he just wouldn't be a first team player but its never wise to base opinions on one game

Now that PSV has been knocked out, maybe they would want less money?

I can't see them turning down £30m

Can't see this happening unless it is instead of Traore. He left us for playing time so he's certainly not coming back unless he gets playing time.

It's a hard no for me. Albeit he clearly has a lot of talent and shows flashes, I think he's far too inconsistent and not ready at this stage. We have a lot of players who run hot and cold already so I don't think he answers the issues we have.

This is just the last thing we need.

Another prospect player that won't make the starting 11 any time soon.
Why won't he, his competition is Moura.

Cause of the last few years we cant buy attackers that are ready-made for our team, they would cost 60m. I bet if Leicester ends up singing him people will moan that we didn't go for him. Do Souramare and Daka start straight away for Leicester?

Guys we can't afford to buy ready-made stars. As none of the top players are interested in joining us right now.

We're a conference league side and need to be creative with our signings.

Madueke is only 19, English, and has a lot of potential that even Dortmund wanted to sign him. He'll more than hold his value with us.

If Madueke was not a ex-Spurs player/academy graduate, would most here say they want him over Traore ?

Ofcourse, majority would want Traore...saying , "we have to spend 40m on PL proven Traore and not a 1/2 season wonder from Dutch league...See we had Bergwijn, he has not clicked yet..."

I am not downplaying Madueke talent/potential - but if it comes to chosing one, - Going by 19/20 stats of Traore by playing with Jota/Jiminez + fact that he can take bulk of opponent manager discussions, setup and affect game play....for me hands down Traore over Madueke.

I think these two games against Benfica were quite telling. For his development he is better off staying at PSV and tearing up that league. He's a few years away from being prem ready imo.
